Thanks for the comments Larry and Ed. I stuck the space rocket piece on there as a quick fix, I plan on revisiting it soon. I also want to redo the fans on top with something larger than a 2x2 round plate. I also want to work on the front end a (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-99, to lugnet.trains)

It says Geep to me! Nice work. EL maroon is just about brown anyway. One nit (you *did* ask) is at the end of the high hood, if you could extend the triangular surface all the way to the top of the hood that would be better. Might be tricky to do (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-99, to lugnet.trains)

Actually, if you go out and measure Tangent track now, you will find it is 4 8 1/4, and curve is 4 8 1/2 + There are real reasons why, (don't ask me though!), mostly to do with wheel wear and tracking. I can't provide the proof, I spent some time digging fruitlessly but I seem to recall reading in a book somewhere as a child that England was 4' 8" and America was the extra 1/2 inch wider. Cool. Most of this story has been around for a while, thanks for sharing. One nit I had heard in this story is that original gauge is 4 ft 8 rather than 4 8 1/2... when the first engines were imported here to the states the gauge was widened a bit (...) (...) It is the track gauge in mm. (4mm scale, 18.83mm track gauge). Fine scale modeling (and gauge is better to use here than scale, as P4 and S4 are different!).
