Re: My 8-wides have a page

(...) I saw it in a few model train magazines, so i had to build on, I'm also building a white one. Josh (23 years ago, 2-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Un-powered replacement for train motor

(...) I agree. A bogus motor that's one plate too high is all very well for a four-wheeled engine, but not for a bogey. (...) Interesting. Does that take a standard technic pin? I always thought the hole was smaller. (...) try and MLCAD it this (...) (23 years ago, 2-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)

Dummy truck (was Re: Un-powered replacement for train motor

(...) all external dimensions matched. The dummy truck that I use in MTW 2001, 3001 and 3002, for example, is not one plate taller than the regular motor, it's the same height. (23 years ago, 2-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Un-powered replacement for train motor

(...) Looks good, but I find the truck arrangement used in set 4564 to be pretty good, if you fill in the spaces between the wheels with 1x4 and 2x4 bricks. I use this arrangement on my v188 double-diesel. -Harvey (23 years ago, 2-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Un-powered replacement for train motor

(...) In my eyes the half stud offset in length direction is less worse than the one plte offest in height. But you can build a nearly 100% replacement if you do not use the bogie plate, but tiles and for e.g. this part: (URL) hole of this plate is (...) (23 years ago, 2-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Un-powered replacement for train motor

OK. This has probably been done before, but here it is anyway. (URL) (23 years ago, 2-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: new train cars available (sort of)

(...) :-) (...) Are you sure, Harvey? Maybe I have sent the confirmation mail to you. If I'm supposed to be able to fake URLs, it should be much easier to fake a simple mail address... BTW: what was the number of your credit card? ;-)) Regards, (...) (23 years ago, 2-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: new train cars available (sort of)

(...) Definitely no trickery here, I received an order confirmation from LEGO® itself. -Harvey (23 years ago, 2-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: new train cars available (sort of)

(...) Granted, one cannot rule it out but this one would be a tough one to fake. :-) (23 years ago, 2-Jul-01, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.trains)

Re: LEGO Train Contest - 1st Place Prize Winner

(...) Tsk. Sadly, only the Grand Prize winners get instructions. Dave "only" won first place. So as the Lego-nazi says, "NO INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOU!!" Nice work, though Dave. Really nice. What'd else'd be cool is to have several different designs (...) (23 years ago, 2-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: My 8-wides have a page

(...) That tank container is a nice touch. -Harvey (23 years ago, 2-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: A few questions....

(...) As far as individuals go, I know I have a fair amount of my town based layout- but the best places to look are GMLTC (I believe it is currently down), The Royal Train (beautiful!), GFLTC, PNLTC or any of the other club sites. Although the (...) (23 years ago, 2-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)

  My 8-wides have a page

I've Uplaoded my 8-wide's to my webpage: (URL) do a little more sorting & caption work tomorrow if it's not hot out. I'm also working on a SD45 & SD40-2. I'll get pictures of the SD40-2 soon. Josh (23 years ago, 2-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: new train cars available (sort of)

(...) There's no joke here... Josh (23 years ago, 2-Jul-01, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.trains)

Re: new train cars available (sort of)

This is obviously all just another hoax being sprung upon us by "Ben" Benecke. I don't know about the rest of you, but I am not falling for it. The URL was a nice touch -nice try, Ben. Fooled me once but never again. Never again! -BB Larry Pieniazek (...) (23 years ago, 30-Jun-01, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.trains)

  Re: A few questions....

(...) Check out the Japanese site I reference here: (URL) find spectacular train designs...and be on the look out for an actual "crocodile" engine! I also assume you saw David Weiler-Thiessen's first-place LEGO train contest entry here: (URL) (23 years ago, 1-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: A few questions....

(...) Search www.brickshelf.com for "train" or "layout". You should get quite a few hits. You can also check out some of the club home pages that are linked off of news.lugnet.com/trains. (...) One of my favorite "non-standard" designs is the drag (...) (23 years ago, 1-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: A few questions....

(...) I've seen lots of really-very far out there trains, some that don't even look like real trains. Its all up to you, and i think a Jungle train would be different. Josh (...) (23 years ago, 1-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)

  A few questions....

I wouldn't consider myself a train-head(mainly because I don't have any train sets), but aftera rather informal gathering with some fellow Lugnetters recently, I find myself being 'sucked in' and becoming more interested in building a train layout. (...) (23 years ago, 1-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains)

The GFLTC at TRU in Tampa Florida

Fair warning, long posting. Four members of the GFLTC, Robin Werner, Scott Holcomb, Scott Miller and I, participated in a "new" event for us which is to put on a display at a local Toys R' Us in South Tampa. The event was promoted for a month prior (...) (23 years ago, 1-Jul-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.castle.ninja, lugnet.events)
