Re: I just don't understand people on eBay...

(...) Excuse me, but I am NOT doing the same thing. I was not prepared to pay a ridiculous price for a Lego. I think, for as neat and as old as this set is, I thought $50 was a great price. That is what I was willing to pay. And I didn't get it (...) (25 years ago, 6-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Incredible Shrinking Disease

(...) There may be truth in that but it does not explain why kids immediatley start building things they see in everyday life. It seems that someone, somewhere in Lego has taken advice that only trendy product lines will sell. Yes, kids (and the (...) (25 years ago, 6-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Rubber brick!

(...) I won a bag full of Lego items recently and I received a "blue" rubber brick. It's just a novelty eraser. David Williams dwilliams@perthmail.com (URL) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Incredible Shrinking Disease

(...) Sanjay, Here is a wishful thought! Maybe, just maybe they are going to bring back the "glory days" of our beloved line. 50 sets of pure construction with the return of the garage door and 4 new houses! Mike (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Incredible Shrinking Disease

I suspect that town sets don't appeal to children as much as some of the other "trendy" product lines like Star Wars. Town is probably seen as "booring." Kids want what they see on TV. I remember the early 90's catalogs when they had tons of town (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

Re: Lego town set that never made the cut!

(...) Brendan, I meant the NON variety of wheels! They look great on trucks and tractor trailers but thats about it (2148,3442, colorline etc.). I wish that they would get back into the car wheels like what is on the 6655,6634,6694 ect. The wheel (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

Re: I just don't understand people on eBay...

(...) I wound up in a bidding war for one auction, and it turned out the other guy only really had to have the instructions!!! So after I won I sold him the instructions (dupes to me) for $15. Ugh. (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

  Incredible Shrinking Disease

I finally got a copy of the 2000 LEGO Catalogue over the weekend, and in need of a good laugh checked out the City Center (Town) section. I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this but is the range slowly but surely decreasing? I'd say there are (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

Re: I just don't understand people on eBay...

(...) I'll second Sanjay's opnion here, that the trains do take up a large amount of space. I would estimate that 1/3 of the area of my city is taken up with the trains. Not so much that physically they cover 1/3, but that for the rest of the city, (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Rubber brick!

Will Middelaer wrote in message ... (...) I'd have to agree with Will on this one. I got three of them from a guy I did a deal with a couple of years ago and while they're the same dimensions as their ABS cousins, you'd quickly wear out the rubber (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Rubber brick!

  Re: Rubber brick!

(...) Do you think perhaps this could be one a Lego pencil eraser? The Lego Outlet store in Potomac Mills mall sells such things. Will (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

  Rubber brick!

Hello all, i'm after advice, does anyone know a lego set that includes a red 2x4 rubber brick?! I have one, its not quite the same red as normal bricks, and this brick has three small holes on the underside, but anyone have any idea which set(s) (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

Re: Lego town set that never made the cut!

(...) Of course I'm entitled to my opinion. That's why I said it. But when you say the Town Jr. Wheels, I am not sure on what you're talking about. Does that include the wheels on, for example, the Octan Gas Transit Truck, the Indy Transport Truck, (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

Re: I just don't understand people on eBay...

(...) I must say, your city sounds VERY nice. However, I couldn't help but pick this out. I'm sorry you paid $50 for the Riding Stable. If it wasn't for me, you would have had it for $16. As you see, I tried getting that set as well for my city. But (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

Re: Lego town set that never made the cut!

(...) Brendan, I am kind of partial to those "nasty red wheels"! Your entitled to your opinion. I hate the Jr. wheels with a passion! Just think of the construction! Mike (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

Re: I just don't understand people on eBay...

(...) I always start one and never finish one (though I do have a generic website that has not been updated since June 1998). So, I will simply be taking the easy way out and posting the pics at Brickshelf. The galleries are already set up, all that (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)
