I saw those auctions too and couldn't understand it, but it all depends on how
badly someone wants something and the bidders at the time. A Metro Park &
Service Tower goes anywhere from $90 to $210. I paid $130 for one MISB (off of
eBay). Another set that varies greatly is the 6395, Race Paddocks. I have seen
it go for as low as $35 (in fair condition) to as high as $86 and $142 (both
MISB). And also, I saw an MISB 6699 (the small cycle shop) for for, get this,
$82(!) while they usually go for $15-$25 mint, the guy must have really wanted
that set. My nephew and I are not to the residential area of our city (we only
have one house set), but will be soon. Houses are so valued because it has
been such a long time since they have made them. To be honest, with you,
however, I would pay $200-$250 if I really wanted it. However, I have a friend
in Italy who is helping my nephew and I searching for sets, so I won't be
bidding on houses just yet.
