Re: BFD Engine 1 Gets Super-Sized

(...) Very COOL design! I love how well thought out the overall design is, and I am amazed that a six-wide firetruck can look so realistic. And yet, the overall design is clean, smooth, and simple - just as it should be. And unlike on many 6 wide or (...) (21 years ago, 14-Jul-03, to lugnet.town)

  Quarry

NELUG recently participated in the LEGO Roadshow. We decided that we wanted to do something special for the event, so we built a fully automated quarry scene that had working vehicals with a Rube-Goldberg feeling to it where "gravel" would (...)   Lego truck

Hey guys, I just want to tell you about a truck that I made. One day, after buying a small bag of used lego at a flea shop, I noticed a megabloks truck cab in one of them. I thougt I could use it, so the same day I began building... Voila, It looks (...) (21 years ago, 14-Jul-03, to lugnet.town)

(...) has to (...) Thanks Josh. I've always thought that the town wheels looked too small for sixbys, especially on tillers or trucks with a wide wheelbase. I'm not overly fond of the freestyle wheels and axles, but I've gotten used to them. (...) (...) (21 years ago, 13-Jul-03, to lugnet.town)

Re: BFD Engine 1 Gets Super-Sized

That is a neat deck gun, I like it & think I may have to use it!! That has to be the 1st truck I've seen with that size tire that look really good. I also have pile of Fire MOC's that need about 10 peices each before I take pictures. Josh (21 years ago, 12-Jul-03, to lugnet.town)

Re: BFD Engine 1 Gets Super-Sized

(...) I did just that... replaced the three lights (which LPub creates, I assume?) and tried the code as shown on that posting. It seems way way too bright. Now, I am trying to use the radiosity file radio_1.inc. It contains this line: ambient_light (...) (21 years ago, 12-Jul-03, to lugnet.town)

Re: BFD Engine 1 Gets Super-Sized

(...) Seeing a single part that inspires an entire model is one of the joys of Lego IMHO. (...) That's how I got started :-) (...) Trust me, that code is easy to use...just replace the three lights in your POV file with it and render. (...) Neither. (...) (21 years ago, 12-Jul-03, to lugnet.town)

Re: BFD Engine 1 Gets Super-Sized

(...) In all honestly, while I may have been the first one to post MOC pictures of a six wide fire truck on the internet, others have picked up the torch and really build some great creations, including your latest one. I've been lagging on MOCs (...) (21 years ago, 12-Jul-03, to lugnet.town)

Those creative juices just keep flowing...

Hi all, Recently I've been churning out a lot of MOCs, and even if a picture says a thousand words, a picture with a caption says even more. Therefore, I've gone up one step and joined MOCpages. All my previous MOCs (except my Alien Probes and (...) (21 years ago, 12-Jul-03, to lugnet.publish, lugnet.general, lugnet.space, lugnet.town, lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)

(...) See, even when I'm wrong... I'm wrong. ;) (...) I used the 1/2 stud inset on my Pumper #3 recently, to allow for the rigid hoses and the extension ladder: (URL) from the back of the cab to the very end of the truck is inset, with the exception (...) (21 years ago, 12-Jul-03, to lugnet.town)

Re: BFD Engine 1 Gets Super-Sized

(...) As a matter of fact, they're entirely cosmetic since I use up the potential storage space to produce a half-stud inset. Making them functional wouldn't be too hard though. Will Bricksburg Fire Department: (URL) Bricksburg Depot: (URL) (21 years ago, 11-Jul-03, to lugnet.town)

Re: BFD Engine 1 Gets Super-Sized

(...) After I wrote this I thought that even though we don't see them open in your render, it's likely that you used that type of door for it's funtional value, rather than it's exact appearance. Is that a fair statement? :) Regards, Allan B. (21 years ago, 11-Jul-03, to lugnet.town)

Re: BFD Engine 1 Gets Super-Sized

(...) There are three things I really like about this model: 1) The overall design is very clean and well thought-out. 2) The deck gun! I love the styling of this. I'm planning on using the chrome version of the light saber hilt as air horns on some (...) (21 years ago, 11-Jul-03, to lugnet.town)
