If Lego were to make new, non-juniorised Town sets, what would you like
them to be? My top ten would be:

[snip!]

What about everyone else?

Kevin

Here's my top ten (in no particular order):

1. Radio-telescope station. This would be especially nice if it was modular
so you could buy several and make an array. They could also use unprinted
UFO saucer pieces so people wouldn't have to Brasso the printing off their
UFO ones :-)

2. Telescope observatory. This would also be especially nice if its dome
used those Space dome pieces in a colour like gray or white, I don't seem to
recall that they've come in an opaque colour before and that would be cool.

3. Oil Rig. They've done this before in 373, but if there was an updated one
in the style of Launch'N'Load Seaport (awesome set) it would, well, be
awesome too :-)

4. Airport Terminal, but modular. It would be difficult, but not impossible,
IMO, to design a set that contained a proper foyer, arrival lounge, and
swinging passage-gantry thing (?) that swings out to the plane, and also be
able to be joined with multiple copies of itself so the rich AFOL could have
his/her 20-gate International Airport.... Mmmmm, twenty-gate airport......
*drools*

5. Police Station!  ;-)
.....Okay then, how about an abandoned warehouse (read: gray plate parts
pack), housing a mob of scowling gangsters (or a gang of scowling mobsters),
their guns/ammunition cache, and a big black Buick. Actually, I'd like to
see some decent efforts at older-style cars (y'know, with the tail wings) as
small sets. Actually, I'm gonna go and make this set myself now. About time
we had some proper crims.

6. Windmill. No, not one of those steel contraptions, I mean one of those
buildings with the giant blades on them like you find in, um, Holland? Very
pretty. There was also one in the movie "Sleepy Hollow".

7. There's a few farming/construction/mining vehicles I'd like to see,
especially combine harvesters, graders, and those giant irrigation
sprinklers. Steam shovels w/tracks, bulldozers w/tracks, giant ore
trucks..... it would be especially nice if they made the giant ore truck
with eight of the old-style 8865 81-millimeter Technic wheels..... Mmmmmm,
Technic wheel parts pack.....*starts drooling again*

8. Some architecture/minifigs that weren't so Western-centric might be nice.
Northern Africa? Middle East? Some would go rather well with other themes
too. I guess this could be stretching the definition of Town, but then we'd
get minifig accessories like basket containers and decorated urns. Yum.

9. Anything military. I know it's naughty, but.... *sigh* it's a great
gaping hole in the Lego world! Well, MY Lego world anyway.

10. Road plates with wires built into them, with working traffic lights and
minifig car chassis that have miniature RCX's in them, pre-programmed to
sense the wires in the plates they're on, so that all the cars in your town
would drive around by themselves and obey traffic signals.... *sigh* okay,
maybe that's wishing for a little too much :-)

Cheers,
Paul
