    cornice —Christopher Tracey
I don't know if someone else has had this idea for a building cornice or it's something new I came up, but here's an idea for a building cornice using some seemingly useless parts that many of us are all but swimming in. (URL) sorry if i 'stole' (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.arch)

        Re: cornice —Jonathan Lopes
(...) Now that is a cornice! Fantastic. Why did I sell all mine? (20 + copies of the tie fighter) Very creative, Chris. Jonathan (23 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.arch)

         Re: cornice —Christopher Tracey
(...) Thanks! I have another cornice in the queue that is even more amazing and uses another part that comes in abundance in a starwars set. Maybe I'll do a mockup of it in a few minutes and post pics. I should say that I've been inspired to work on (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.arch)

         Re: cornice —Larry Pieniazek
(...) Ya, John's got some good ones. If you want masonry buildings from about 1850 to about 1950 or so, you gotta have those cornices... they're a defining feature of US cities, or so it seems. Using this heretofore thought worthless part this way (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.arch)

         Re: cornice —Jonathan Lopes
(...) Thanks for the compliment. I just looked at Brickshelf & saw the other cornice. Very impressive. I think I'll be borrowing it at some point. The dark grey seems to mellow out the bright green nicely. great job. Jonathan (23 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.arch)

          Re: cornice —Christopher Tracey
(...) Yes it does. I only used the dk gray since I had several 1x2 bricks with technic pins in that color sitting on the layout. I think I will keep the scheme for the building. I wish that curve brick was available in an upside down version -- it (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.arch)

          Re: cornice —Jonathan Lopes
(...) I look forward to seeing the window sill. It's funny, I build a lot of my buildings from the top down as well. A couple of them I built 'from the windows out'. (windows were made first.) Jonathan (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.arch)

          Re: cornice —Jason J. Railton
(...) Me too - mainly because it's so hard to get a good selection of roof pieces. With my Brickley Station building, I re-built the roof over and over again, every time I found another dark grey slope hidden on a Star Wars model. Finally I was (...)           Re: cornice —Jonathan Lopes
(...) do you have a link to this station you mention? Thanks Jonathan (23 years ago, 11-Jan-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.arch)

          Re: cornice —Jason J. Railton
(...) Yes - it's another entry to the ISSC. It's just a small rural station building, and you'll see my windmill too: (URL) put this up before, but it's entered under Trains, not Town. Jason J Railton (23 years ago, 12-Jan-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.arch)

          Re: cornice —Jonathan Lopes
(...) ah yes, I did see that. I like how you varied the brick color on the body of the building. I see how the roof would make you build it from the top down as well. Thanks for the link. Jonathan (23 years ago, 14-Jan-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.arch)

         Re: cornice —Christopher Tracey
(...) Since I had a few minutes, I mocked up my other cornice idea and posted some pics. (URL) like this one a lot, it seems to fit the scale I build my buildings a little better. It also eats up a lot of those green round tops from the flash (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.arch)

        Re: cornice —Adrian Drake
(...) Cool! I've got tons of those parts hanging around. If I were a town builder, I'd definitely use that idea :) (time for another theme perhaps...) Adrian -- www.brickfrenzy.com (23 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.arch)

         Re: cornice —Christopher Tracey
(...) Thanks Adrian, I'm offically out of those parts now. This project did force a sort of all my unopened sith infiltrators finially. Remember, all themes lead to town. :) -chris (23 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.arch)

         Re: cornice —Adrian Drake
(...) Strangely enough, you're probably right about that :) I'm currently working on building a bunch of futuristic motorcycles, with the plan to stage a race with them. Of course I'll need scenery for that. Oh no, I need a town :) Adrian -- (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.arch)

        Re: cornice —Jonathan Lopes
(...) I just noticed that as well. 2x2x2 slopes? in red? in abundance? Jonathan (23 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.arch)

         Re: cornice —Josh Baakko

         Re: cornice —Christopher Tracey
(...) Tan and white would make good building colors as well and are currently available. (URL) (23 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.arch)

        Re: cornice —Christopher Tracey
(...) Thanks! The red parts are 2x2x2 slopes (minifig dresses). You have to drop them down one plate lower than the tie-fighter piece which will produce a slight gap along the angle but it's ignoble. The red slopes are hard to come by since they (...)
