  Re: Bionicle going away?

(...) <set:7191> has: numerous technic gears: 8t, 16t, 24t, 12t beveled technic cross axles: in various lengths and colors technic friction pegs (including #3 friction peg) technic bushings (both regular and 1/2 wide) technic catches plus many many (...)   Re: Bionicle going away?

(...) I'm wondering whether you would argue that the UCS Tie Fighter was not Technic if it had been released as a Technic set. A Technic set contains Technic elements and is released under the Technic name by TLC. Bionicle sets fall in this (...) (23 years ago, 30-May-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Bionicle going away?

(...) I think it's obvious that it's a 'Model Team' set by nature. I have only 3 Model Team sets but I got the impression that all of them contain at least some Technic elements and have some functions. What differentiates this line from the Technic (...)   Re: Bionicle going away?

(...) There's a simple test, has it got a transparent windscreen, Yes!! then it can't possibly be Technic. Also Technic sets are always built in a skeletal framework style, while the UCS Tie Fighter is a solid form. I thougt we'd agreed Bionicle (...) (23 years ago, 31-May-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Bionicle going away?

(...) Despite being keen for Lego to keep Technic 'traditional' and basically agreeing with you, I can't let you get away with this test. Technic Universal set 8020 has a transparent windscreen and I think it was one of the best value universals (...) (23 years ago, 31-May-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Bionicle going away?

(...) Yeah, it's a cool set! I like the use of technic functions in small vehicles. There aren't that many technic functions available in the set, but it's still an interesting package. Fredrik (23 years ago, 31-May-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Bionicle going away?

(...) We have agreed on that, several times, but certain parties want to make sure nobody forgets it. Here are the issues as I see them. Should the Techbots (Slizer, Roboriders, Bionicle) be in Lugnet's technic section? Yes, because that's where (...) (23 years ago, 1-Jun-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) Please, oh please, tell me that the Technic Pit Droid is an exception. (...) Which, of course, is why this whole argument is completely pointless and everyone who posted in this thread is insane (especially me). Not that there's anything wrong (...)   Re: Bionicle going away?

(...) In other words, almost every Technic Formula 1 racer ever released (not sure whether this includes the Silver Champion) is not actually a Technic set? (...) Well, the main problem with that is that when you get right down to it, nobody really (...) (23 years ago, 6-Jun-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Bionicle going away?

(...) Oh yeah, thank you for reminding me! I actually don't have the pit droid, so I really can't comment on it, but it does seem simpler. (...) I'll add my name under the 'insane' category, thank you for pointing out the pointlessness... :-) - (...) (23 years ago, 6-Jun-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Bionicle going away?

(...) I could write Technic across my butt! it still wouldn't be Technic though. Technic in name only! Steve (23 years ago, 6-Jun-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Bionicle going away?

(...) Oh, I don't know about that. If your butt came out of a press in Billund, it could very well reflect the spirit of Technic. (Technicicity?) But of course, it was LEGO who wrote 'Technic' across the lid-that-is-a-wheel. It's possible to (...) (23 years ago, 6-Jun-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Bionicle going away?

(...) I don't know about you, but (t) at least in my case the main point of my butt is it's functions and not it's looks or anything else, so I guess it is 'Technic' in spirit after all! :-) - David (23 years ago, 6-Jun-01, to lugnet.technic)
