Re: Feedback on the Airtech Claw Rig (8868)

(...) I have two of these and recently made one up as to sell on e-bay. I have to say it was the most difficult models I have made in Lego technic. However when complete the self contained moving parts powered by the on board compressor are a (...) (25 years ago, 18-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: my first post and what i think is a spiffy engine....

(...) One of my older models used a 6 cylinder T-block engine, ie 3 banks of 2 cylinders. It used the old 2x2 'cylinders', so was quite a hefty lump! Still more compact than a V6 though. If you want a look, follow the link below, go to 'Lego (...) (25 years ago, 18-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: US S@H Specials, Oct 18 - Oct 24, 2000

(...) Ooh -- if you're a fan of the old-style Toggle Joints with teeth, jump on that 5289. There are 4 of the old 2L Gray Toggle Joints and 4 of the old gray piston rods with opposing side studs. The rest of the parts aren't particularly uncommon (...) (25 years ago, 18-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.space)

Feedback on the Airtech Claw Rig (8868)

One of the older Technic kits that has shown up on my radar is the 1992 Airtech Claw Rig 8868. Feedback from set owners is good in that both people who claim ownership mention it as one of their favorites. The problem with getting ahold of one is (...) (25 years ago, 18-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)

Thanks! I'd seen this one already, and so far it might be the only promising way to get it done. I'll keep ya posted :) -jeff (...) (25 years ago, 18-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: my first post and what i think is a spiffy engine....

yeah, i would've liked a W-12, but that seemed to hard at first, and the T- block achieves the same basic idea. I'm working on chassis stuff now, hopefully I'll have pics in a few days or so....... PS: The W-block may fit in a smaller space, anyone (...) (25 years ago, 18-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Update to my Caterham 7 technic creation

(...) Nah, I think you're just fine with the elastic bands. They are legit pieces anyway aren't they - the "Mud Masher" uses them as part of its steering - so the purists shoud be happy. Jennifer Clark (25 years ago, 18-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: my first post and what i think is a spiffy engine....

It got 12 cylinders, 4 on the left facing horizontal, and four on the right, with 4 on top. the side have a gap in the middle, due to the crank shaft needing room to turn. Runs very smooth tho. only takes the same length as a V- 10 would. My attempt (...) (25 years ago, 18-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)

my first post and what i think is a spiffy engine....

Howdy, this is my first time seriously pursueing any sort of continuing project with technic, and boy are my skills suffering. :) Anyway, I've been tooling around the web ordering parts, etc, and stumbled here. I'd like a little feedback if you (...) (25 years ago, 18-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Broken pieces in 8448 Supercar?

O boy , do we get all the old stuff here in Europe :( I just bought mine 3 weeks ago and today one spring broke and the other one already has little pieces of black plastic inside them. Now lets see how good costumer support is here. Koen (25 years ago, 18-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)

Whoops, sorry. I thought you were talking about the flexible rubber axels that that showed up in 8448. I didn't know about the ones in the ZNap pictures later in this thread. --Travis Cobbs (tcobbs@san.REMOVE.rr.com) "Travis Cobbs" (...) (25 years ago, 18-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Flex Axels question...

They flex quite a lot. They are made out of stiff rubber. They come in various lengths, although I'm not sure what all those lengths are. I pulled one off my supercar mk 2, and it is 14 studs long. This one is easily capable of being bent to form a (...) (25 years ago, 18-Oct-00, to lugnet.technic)
