  8458 - Silver Champion -- Opinions?

Does anyone have the 8458 yet? If so, what do you think of the set? Good pieces? Interesting construction? How big is it? Thanks, -Peter FLL Team #1096 coach (25 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

(...) Easy! I think your plans for that project are great, it could well turn out to be the Mother of all Lego remote control trucks. I am really interested in seeing the interface between the RC servos and Lego elements. Thanks for the feedback, (...) (25 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

(...) There is a recent model I am still undecided about, the Monster Crane Truck (8446). It has some pretty cool mechanisms, especially the grab, and is very well constructed, but from an appearance point of view would look more in place on the (...) (25 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

(...) Yeah, I've used a few of the 16 tooth idlers in the crane model for the gearbox and a few other things. These parts really are a godsend! Unfortunately only an 8 tooth gear will do for my current application. I may have thought of a way round (...) (25 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Broken 8448 Shocks

(...) I did this a few weeks ago myself. Just call Lego Shop @ Home and they will transfer you over to customer service and they will send you the replacement shocks for free. The number for Shop@Home is 1-800-835-4386. Keith Blumenthal (25 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.general)

Hear, Hear!!! Brad will you please check these out? Is it feasible for TLC to consider licensing/purchasing plans from AFOLs?? I think that any of us would be honored to give permission, as long as the plans weren't altered.... Please check out (...) (25 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Old & New Motors: work output comparison???

(...) There is a good page about this here: (URL) his tests found that the the new 9V geared motor provides at least twice as much torque at a similar RPM. In practice, some pretty amazing torque can be obtained with either, and sometimes I favour (...) (25 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Broken 8448 Shocks

(...) What is the phone number (I'm in the US) to call? I am surprised that Lego doesn't seem to have a customer support e-mail address, and I can't even find an appropriate phone number. I found the damper parts broken on my Supercar just recently, (...) (25 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.general)

Old & New Motors: work output comparison???

It's CRANE TIME ast Elwood & Bubbas' workshop. After a two year - hiatus, E & B are back at the drawing board, hard at work on their biggest crane ever. My quest is for performance measures of the old & new Lego motors: which one produces more work (...) (25 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Broken 8448 Shocks

One if mine broke. I called Lego and they happily replaced it, free shipping. I was surprised that the rep knew exactly what I was talking about--she went ahead and sent me two new ones, instead of just the one that broke. I realize now that it is a (...)   Re: Two original Technic creations

(...) I'm completely with you for the newly introduced parts. But the majority of the recent technic sets does not feel right, when looking them as "models" rather than part packs. Actually, I always consider the sets as part packs, and I only (...) (25 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Two original Technic creations

(...) Ah, I was kinda secretly hoping that there was another source of dark grey hubs. I really like them, but I do't see myself picking up three Millenium Slizers! The rest of the parts on them are not too interesting. I was also reading your (...) (25 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)
