  Re: Throwbots: An Introduction

(...) I haven't tried this yet, but it looks like it might make a good "trailer hitch". Especially for remote-controlled or robotic vehicles: the flex in the middle of the arm, and the design of the hand, suggest that you could get a couple of (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Experience with Tow Truck 8462?

(...) hi, Yep, it's a cool set for pneumatics fans with 3 large pneumatic cylinders, 3 valves and 2 of the (hard to get) blue air tanks. They're on offer at US $62.50 at DYA Shopping (France) (URL) get 'em before they run out. Then you can stop (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: RC control on Pneumatics, gearboxes and polarity switches

(...) Don't worry. It will propably take months for me to solve this thing, so you have plenty of time to beat me on the finish-line :P (...) It's possible for me to get my hands on another RC equipment since my father just placed his model (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: RC control on Pneumatics, gearboxes and polarity switches

(...) LOL, that might be a great idea ;) (...) I thought something like this; The RC-controller has two joysticks that combined control four servos. The fifth channel is a switch made for landing gears (it's an model airplane controller). I thought (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Throwbots: An Introduction

(...) My receipe for making something big is start off using Blasters legs (change the colour of course!) Use his torso design too, use normal arms, except mount them on the standard arm mount (the "Hand") so that they're longer, and make huge (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Experience with Tow Truck 8462?

Hey, Does anyone have experience with the Tow Truck 8462? It looks as though it has pneumatic tanks on the sides, which is a big plus for me. But it seems very hard to come by. Is it worth the $122 retail that Lego Shop @ Home was charging (when (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Hidden Technic Kits for 2000

Does anyone have any of the non-retail Technic kits for 2000? 8516 Super RoboRider (details, anyone) 5218 Pneumatic Pack 5219 Spare Wheels 5220 Styling Pack (looks like leftover parts from the new 8458 Formula I) 5221 Motor Base (what is this for? (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Throwbots: An Introduction

(...) Agreed, totally. (...) Mine (not counting Blaster or Millenium) is Flare, just for the orange, and even though he has TWO of those damned throwing arms. (...) Good. The Roborider heads (except Dust and Onyx) are GREAT. I would rather use the (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Throwbots: An Introduction

First off, here's my RULE: Buy two so that you have enough pieces to make another arm and you can throw out the throwing arms. My favourite complete Throwbot would have to be Electro, or whatever the purple bug's name is. As i stated before, i buy (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Throwbots: An Introduction

In a nutshell, the Throwbots seemed to be targeted at the age 7-12 crowd. They combine elements of other popular toys: Transformers, BattleTech, Lego (duh), POGs (collectible caps), and even a smidge of Pokemon thrown in (although not marketed as (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: RC control on Pneumatics, gearboxes and polarity switches

Hey, you guys are luck My digital Camera messed up and i just got it back and had built a knucle bone (the tern used to call the loader on a logging truck) Well, anyway, I have several pics you can look at. It isn't remote control, but it is modeled (...) (25 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: RC control on Pneumatics, gearboxes and polarity switches

(...) Okay! Are you planning on renting a garage for it?:) I can't see a solution to the problem with only 5 controllers (servos or whatever). But how about splitting the functions up, you need a channel to Rise/lower support legs next to the crane (...) (25 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Dark Side Developer Kit

(...) I glanced at one on the shelf at Family Toy over the weekend. I'm not currently looking to buy anything that big, so I didn't look very closely. But they definately had a few on the shelf. I didn't really like the look of the AT-AT on the box (...) (25 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: RC control on Pneumatics, gearboxes and polarity switches

(...) I'm not entirely sure if Tobbe was referring to the "traditional" type of mobile crane setup here - I rather get the impression, although I may be wrong, that he is intent on making a "logging truck", with a crane similar to that you get for (...) (25 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: RC control on Pneumatics, gearboxes and polarity switches

(...) Not for the weak-hearted *anything*. You realize, of course, that this could destroy the newsgroup: if you succeed, no one else will be able to brag about anything for months ;-) Suggestion: all the crane trucks I've seen have separate seats (...) (25 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

RC control on Pneumatics, gearboxes and polarity switches

Hi! [WARNING: Not for the weak hearted LEGO purist ;) ] I'm planning to build a remote controlled LEGO lumber truck. What I'm planning to do is to controll all the functions via a remote controll (eg. Sanwa 5 channel RC equipment). By all the (...) (25 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: anyone know

(...) According to The Registry... (URL) says that the large ones (3739) are used in 8862 (yellow), 8865 (white), and 851 (grey). It further says that the smaller ones (4266) are used in 8848 (grey), 8849 (blue), 8853 (yellow), 8850 (white), and (...) (25 years ago, 6-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Throwbots: First Impressions

I've just started collecting the Throwbots line, and I have all but Torch (red) and Granite (tan), and I haven't gotten Millenium or Blaster (the two higher-priced ones) yet. My only complaints so far (as with the RoboRiders) is that not much (...) (25 years ago, 6-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Throwbots 2 for $10 at Zany Brainy w/ coupon

(...) Thanks for the update, Ran. With shipping and everything, however, it doesn't make sense to go through eToys. I can have them all TODAY for $50 plus tax. Most Zany Brainy stores don't care if you get more than two at once, and you DON'T have (...) (25 years ago, 6-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: anyone know

(...) I don't own a <set:8862> but I do own a <set:8868> and it seems to have the same wheels (with white hubs). - David (25 years ago, 6-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)
