  New 2006 Technic Set Pics

I was browsing trains and caught this (URL) from Jeramy Spurgeon with a link to a LEGO site in Hungary. So, I decided to do a little digging around and found a new crane, the 8288. Here's a pic of it: (URL) I also found a better pic of the 8674 1:8 (...) (19 years ago, 6-Feb-06, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: New 2006 Technic Set Pics

(...) I saw the crane and the other models in a catalogue at a Lego show on the Sunday before last. It's not a brilliant picture but it looks like it has lots of track links, so I'll be buying multiple copies :-). The new range looks great, I'm (...)   Re: New 2006 Technic Set Pics

(...) I saw links to that site a few days ago on the eurobricks forum, but I wasn't sure what Lugnet's leaks policy is these days ... ??? I know it used to be a pretty sensitive issue ... *remembers a bit of a furore surrounding leaked pics from (...) (19 years ago, 6-Feb-06, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: New 2006 Technic Set Pics

(...) Hard to tell, but I'm hoping it also has multiple weight bricks. That will offset the almost total lack of studs... ROSCO (19 years ago, 6-Feb-06, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: New 2006 Technic Set Pics

(...) WOW! Those are the best pics I've seen yet of the 8285! I clicked up on the folder and saw pics of the new Ferrari too. And thank goodness it DOES have a suspension system (small yellow shocks like the Silver Champ)! Adr. (19 years ago, 6-Feb-06, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

(...) (URL) And another>. That looks like a new battery box beside it can anyone confirm? ROSCO (19 years ago, 6-Feb-06, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

(...) snipped (...) Thanks to Steve, here is a possible answer. Check this picture on BrickShelf- (URL) Adr. (19 years ago, 6-Feb-06, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: New 2006 Technic Set Pics

(...) Yes it is, it comes with the 8287 (URL) On the cover of the box shown is a pictures of included parts. See what look like red 2xN plates with grey around them, that's the battery box. Adr. (19 years ago, 6-Feb-06, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: New 2006 Technic Set Pics

(...) Aha ... thanks guys! Definitely a V10 ... yet more pistons to gather dust then ... :o Looks like there's quite a lot of change in the chassis too then - thinking about it, they've cut down on the old style technic beams and gone as much as (...)   Re: New 2006 Technic Set Pics

(...) Agreed. Shame the crane didn't get a clearer pic - hopefully someone has one. I'm less keen on the fire truck after seeing that pic now. Still want the telehandler, tow truck and crane though ... Chris. (19 years ago, 7-Feb-06, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: New 2006 Technic Set Pics

(...) If it has weight bricks and no studs, how are they going to be attached? Jam it on those liftarms, stud sideways? :-) (Yes, I would do it that way.) Thank you you guys for these great pics! Now my two cents and speculations after I glean (...) (19 years ago, 7-Feb-06, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

(...) That's why I said "almost" ;) ROSCO (19 years ago, 7-Feb-06, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: New 2006 Technic Set Pics

(...) (URL) Looks like> it has 2. A bit surprised actually, thought they might have produced a new studless weight brick. ROSCO (19 years ago, 12-Feb-06, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: New 2006 Technic Set Pics

(...) I think it has 2 weight bricks as well. Unlike some of the other models I was reluctant to tip it over and get pics from all sides. (the towtruck... I went crazy on that one. I could not spot any studded bricks in that model at all, but I may (...) (19 years ago, 12-Feb-06, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: New 2006 Technic Set Pics

(...) There's a couple of downsides to multiple parts sheaves - first, it means at least twice as much string, and that can mean either larger spools or thinner string, which is much harder for small fingers to handle; and second, it's harder to (...)   Re: New 2006 Technic Set Pics

From what I've seen in the pics, the tow truck looks like it has only 1 pneumatic piston. That doesn't look very impressive. (19 years ago, 16-Feb-06, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: New 2006 Technic Set Pics

(...) The fact that it only has one piston is not impressive but the truck itself is very impressive. However, if that one piston can lift a lego truck of the same scale then it is a good design. It is interesting that although TLC typically models (...) (19 years ago, 16-Feb-06, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: New 2006 Technic Set Pics

(...) I would agree with leaving the tow truck together - and the dust should be easier to wipe off the studless beams! Looking at at the tractor set, my first impressions of it is that it has a very modern look. My first contact with Technic was (...) (19 years ago, 16-Feb-06, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: New 2006 Technic Set Pics

(...) Ahhhhhhh, there's always room for modifications, right? Take the 8421 technic crane for example.. came with 2 cylinders, however, with a little thinkin and adjusting pieces, it now has 4... add an air tank to it.. now has excellant lifting (...)
