  Re: Still under development

(...) Did you specify the color in LDRAW? I've noticed that some elements cant change color since the colors are specified in the elements dat-file. Perhaps POVRAY can use the user-selected color. If you for example had a yellow brick selected when (...) (23 years ago, 1-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Still under development

(...) That's never happened, Yet!! Actually the body work stops that from happening and there used to be a 1x8 plate connecting the racks and keeping them in the correct place. I've put the dat up to enable a closer look. Steve (23 years ago, 28-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Still under development

Steve, I like the design you used to control the height of the blade. You may need to beef up the upper portion of the support of the gear rack. It will probably derail if you do not support both sides of the rack. Cool design all around. Very (...) (23 years ago, 28-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Still under development

This is what I built over the weekend, it's a bit of a diversion in between bigger projects. (URL) not finished yet, and the bodwork is virtual since it's not been put on the real machine yet. The tracks drive independantly and the blade moves up (...) (23 years ago, 28-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Single set Technic Power Pulling.

(...) You've missed the point of the competition. Each set has it's own class. The challenge is to get the most out of the parts you are given. I think the current rules are fine. What you have described would be a completely different competition. (...) (23 years ago, 28-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Single set Technic Power Pulling.

Tobbe Arnesson: Instead of using a single Lego set the parameters should be 1-4 motors and the type of tires used. The amount of Lego shouldn't matter. Only Lego should be used and no other weight materials added. There should be weight classes. (...) (23 years ago, 28-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

(...) IMHO the Technic line went downhill after the 8480 Space Shuttle and I think it's about to hit rock bottom this year and hit it hard! (...) Oh, that's also a "new" piece to me since it came out the same year(s) that I entered my dark ages.. (...) (23 years ago, 28-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Single set Technic Power Pulling.

(...) It has to have an inventory at Peeron so you'll need to get one up there first :) (...) Well, there is one class per set e.g. you wont compete with the other sets :) /Tobbe (URL) (23 years ago, 28-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

RE: Single set Technic Power Pulling.

Does this have to be a commercially available set? There is a scaled up model of a Lego Racer in Hamley's of London window. Wheels are about 2 feet in diameter and powered by a 240V mains motor - should be able to beat all comers!!! If I can get (...) (23 years ago, 28-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

(...) A nicely succinct description of the thread. I wanted to echo Robert's opinions, particularly with the anticipation of looking at the latest catalogues to see what lies in store, only to be unimpressed. Although perhaps a touch off-group, did (...) (23 years ago, 28-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Ebay prices. This is crazy!!!

(...) I listed AND sold a spare set of the 14 misprints on BrickLink for $250, which was pretty much the same price as I paid for my own set. I think $250 is an average price for all 14. (Just for the record mine came form the same guy selling the (...) (23 years ago, 28-Feb-02, to lugnet.technic.bionicle, lugnet.general)

Re: Ebay prices. This is crazy!!!

The ones auctioned last night ended at $255 for the collection... Does $18.21 sound the most expensive part?
