how do you open a 9v wire?

How do you get the end of a 9v wire open (so I can repair it)? (23 years ago, 18-Jan-02, to lugnet.technic)

(...) should (...) The trick to getting a good connection is to ensure that both pieces of the 2x2 connector are precisely parallel to each other when pressing them together - this way I'm achieving close to 100% success rates making up custom (...)   Re: repairing a broken 9v wire?

(...) I had exactly the same problem with one of my wires a while ago. There is probably an easy way to fix it by trying some of the other advice here (as Robert said, soldering the ends should work well enough as long as the two cables don't touch (...)   Re: repairing a broken 9v wire?

(...) I recently had same problem and repaired it as above, it but it didn't satisfy me enough. Connection after reassembling isn't as good as it should be. Better way is to solder cable directly to that metal thing and cut the "needles" off. (If (...) (23 years ago, 17-Jan-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

Re: repairing a broken 9v wire?

(...) From what I hear you don't even need to strip the insulation, there are tangs that press through it to make the connection While you're prying it open you may want to replace it with a really long wire for those cross layout power runs and use (...)   Re: repairing a broken 9v wire?

(...) (xp'd to .robotics- there's probably more experience on the subject in this group) You should be able to pry apart the 2x2 end and repair the wires inside. I haven't done this yet, but I've heard that this is possible. I would pull out the (...) (23 years ago, 17-Jan-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

  repairing a broken 9v wire?

I have a piece of 9v wire that doesnt work. However, it works if you fiddle with one end (hold/apply pressure to the wire where it goes into the 2x2 plate). This suggests a loose connection inside the wire somewhere. Anyone got any suggestions on (...) (23 years ago, 17-Jan-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: My Ambulators

Using the programming environment that comes with Mindstorms is a little frustrating in that I want to simply capture data streams in a data file and dump it to, say, a spreadsheet. What I've found myself doing is using the LCD window on the rcx (...) (23 years ago, 17-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

  Re: My Ambulators

Well..I did kinda, Some foreground information is needed before I can explain that. The lego touch sensors arent simple toggle throw type switches, they have a precision, where the touch sensor can have values ranging ( for example ) 0 to 100, where (...) hi Brian, nice robots and good pictures ! I just studied them roughly, but did I conclude it right that you made a rotation sensor with the normal lego switch ?   My Ambulators

Hello everyone, this is my first Lugnet post. Yea for me :) I just wanted to show everyone my lego creations.   Re: bionicle in technic

(...) Apologies if you thought I was attempting to slander Bionicle. But the initial question wasn't just "How can I avoid the Bionicle posts" but "Why isn't Bionicle in its own subgroup?". The answer to that is that by Lego's apparent definition, (...) (23 years ago, 15-Jan-02, to lugnet.technic)
