Re: Greatest demand is for Bionicle -- Yuck! :)

(...) Andy, I think this has been discussed before.. however.. (...) This is something I've been pondering as well, as an adult with marketing, collectibles industry (gag), and 'net background...   Re: Greatest demand is for Bionicle -- Yuck! :)

Has anyone done a study to determine what is so appealing to the buyers of Bionicle? And I don't mean the AFOLs as much as the rest of the buyers... Is it: - Because they are robotic/action figures? - Because they have a full online story behind (...) (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.technic.bionicle)

Re: Greatest demand is for Bionicle -- Yuck! :)

(...) And Learning Express marks up over retail too! Typically 25% I think (they had 3033 for 25.00). But that's because the individual shop owners are paying more wholesale (to their distributor, I think) than TRU is to LEGO directly. People DO buy (...) (...) Well, unfortunately, this does provide insight from LEGO on how well the line is doing. I wondered myself as you can't seem to see the Toa or other lower priced kits on shelves much by me here in the midwest. Figured either they were selling (...)   Re: Suspension for supercar sized Hummer?

(...) No, buy it for the tires! ;-) (...) FLIMSY?! I have faith in this one: (URL) pounded it up and down with my fist and the suspension held up fine. With enough shock absorbers, it would definitely support a model the size of a big super car. TJ (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Large Crane MOC

(...) It doesn't even come close! Dennis' crane had a maximum height of 4.2 meters and I estimate this new crane to have a maximum height of around 2.7 meters. And there are other Lego cranes that exceed 2.7 m ;-) TJ (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.loc.nl, lugnet.technic)

One thing I forgot to mention is that this will be powered by 4 gear motors on the back wheels and 2 to steer. The steering wheels will be powered by an RCX and monitored with a rotation sensor.   Re: Suspension for supercar sized Hummer?

(...) One thing to remeber about hummers is they often have geared hubs, which raises the suspension even further off the ground. I've thought about trying to build these before, but never had any firm ideas - simething else always seems to take (...) (23 years ago, 16-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic)

Slizer & Throwbot: Why the 2 names?

  Suspension for supercar sized Hummer?

Here's how to avoid "freezes" in Mata Nui game
