Re: Official pictures of new 2001 Legos

(...) drive train. If that's true it is almost equal to 8880 in terms of mechanical functions. Can't wait to have one. (24 years ago, 16-Feb-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.year.2001)

  How will it end?

How do you think the Bionicle storyline will end? My ending: The Toa are fighting Makuta. He is extremly powerful. The six Toa fuse together and awake Mata Nui. He forms with the fused Toas and they manage to defeat Makuta. With the evil one gone, (...) (24 years ago, 16-Feb-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

Re: LEGOs dirty trick: making money by not producing all masks as announced.

(...) Bah, believe me, *every* booster has a rare, and one in three is a holo. With a lot of time, money, and diligence I was able to complete three sets of Pokemon cards. For this reason I know how it is to open 5 boosters in a row to get (...) (24 years ago, 16-Feb-01, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.technic.bionicle)

  Re: Is Bionicle violence?

(...) That reminds me of one of our running jokes for the summit :) Also reminds me of the scripture which says '..and they will beat their swords into plowshares...' or something like that. -Tim (24 years ago, 16-Feb-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Is Bionicle violence?

The Wall Street Journal article had a large-print sidebar quoting "They're not weapons, they're tools." Right..... As a side effect I've got a new understanding of "Codewarrior: Tools for the Professional Programmer." They're not weapons, they're (...)   8862 Backhoe Grader question

I have heard that the 8862 Backhoe Grader was only released in Europe and Australia. Is this true? This would account for how hard it is to find 8862 in the US. Does anyone know of any other sets that were not released in the US. Furthermore, why (...) (24 years ago, 16-Feb-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Is Bionicle violence?

Trimmed bionicle from FUT (...) I agree with Bill. Violence in a story isn't bad, per se. It's *celebrating it* as an end in and of itself that's bad. I hold with a philosophy that doesn't initiate violence but that doesn't mean I'm against seeing (...) (24 years ago, 16-Feb-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Is Bionicle violence?

(...) This may stir up a firestorm (not my intent), but why is violence in a storyline so bad? Violence is a regrettably necessary part of life. If children learn to comprehrend the difference between violence that defends or protects innocence and (...) (24 years ago, 16-Feb-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Is Bionicle violence?

I agree with both of you. I do think it's disturbing. I'd just like to raise some points to clarify some things. 1. If a computer virus is programmed not to like being killed, it won't like being killed. Now, this may not be true, today, but it is (...)   Re: Is Bionicle violence?

(...) Sorry, I hadn't read the Bionicle.com story yet. I didn't expect to find anything beyond the 2001 TECHNIC brochure found in the LEGO boxes. So now we have a character that is definately evil- is it okay now? I still think that evil LEGO was (...) (24 years ago, 15-Feb-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Is Bionicle violence?

Re: Looking for set for parts

From what I've read, the 8459 is generally regarded as a pretty good set. Because I have only been into Technic for couple of years, my definition of a "new" set is whether the half-bushings have teeth or not. But from what I've read here, it seems (...)   Re: Looking for set for parts

(...) Actually the 8459 set is actually pretty new (1997) when compared to some others, but yeah; I would definitely recommend this one. I'm not sure about average auction prices but I saw an unopened one go for $125 US dollars on eBay a few days (...) (24 years ago, 15-Feb-01, to lugnet.technic)
