This came out when I was about 11 and I wanted it so bad. Two problems: 1. It wasn't available in India at that time 2. None of my relatives were kind enough to shell out $120 for it Fast forward 14 years, I'm now in the US, am employed and have (...) (21 years ago, 19-Dec-03, to lugnet.technic)

(...) Parallax markets the Toddler, which is a walking Robot that shifts its center of gravity to walk. It turns by sliding its feet in opposite directions. It has 34 possible movements. (21 years ago, 19-Dec-03, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

Now, think about what physically goes into making yourself walk. How much energy and control is involved? Try walking on a flat, level surface (or better, one at a slight decline, like a very long handicap ramp). Walk with your natural gait, at the (...)   Re: JCB JS220 Excavator

Hello I have been trying to build a model based on this one. But I have been having trouble on how to connect the boom or arm to the super structure. If anyone has any idea please share. (...) Dunno but this non-LEGO robot (with knees) has been taught to run (URL) wish there was a video available on the net somewhere - I saw it on TV yesterday, and though it's difficult to tell it's running, it does seem rather more "human-like" (...)   Re: Connecting New Cylinders

(...) I think I'd be worried that bending forces when operating the cylinders could cause the thin liftarm to snap the inlet. At least with the wide liftarm, the forces would be carried by a substantially larger area, and with the hose also (...) (21 years ago, 18-Dec-03, to lugnet.technic)

Consider the way we walk... we start by effectively starting to lean slightly forward, and we swing a leg some distance in front of ourselves to stop from falling. We then start to bring the other leg forward as we reupright ourselves and repeat the (...) (21 years ago, 18-Dec-03, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Connecting New Cylinders

(...) This solution should also work for small pistons. I'd have less concerns about breaking them due to excess stress. Kevin (21 years ago, 18-Dec-03, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

(...) Of course if you could use the thin liftarm it would be better, but I think the wide liftarm is also an elegant solution :) ROSCO (21 years ago, 18-Dec-03, to lugnet.technic)

Matt, Very nice work! Your car looks great. The only thing I would do is add a few of the aero bits between the front wing and radiator intake if possible. i'm just curious is it possible to put piston's vents inside the axlehole? if yes then maybe the rest of vent will stick out enough to still join the tube hmm? pixel "Tobbe Arnesson" <StPnAtM@lotek.nu> wrote in message news:Hq1HJ7.rDH@lugnet.com...
