It just came to my attention that John Barnes is stopping production of Mindstorms and Radio Control Lego components. According to his article on LUGNET the demand is to great and he can't keep up. Since the demand is so great why not raise the (...) (21 years ago, 13-Apr-03, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Another render of set 8458

(...) Sure, I'll send you the file but I don't think my disatisfaction is due to your INC files. I think its due to my laziness in setting up the scene properly and making the proper L3P output mods. -Orion (21 years ago, 13-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.technic)

Are the actual files or process used to render this model available anywhere? I'd love to be able to apply the same settings to some of my models. (...) The "Spybotics" sets all have the double-bevel gears. If you're lucky, you can find the sets on clearance - I got lucky and scored three of them at 75% off after Christmas at a not-so-local Target... I'm going to hazard a *guess* that Lego (...) (21 years ago, 13-Apr-03, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Are "classic" technic parts doomed?

Ah, it's about time we have a new thread about the possible death of "traditional" Technic LEGO again! I think that, while there is indeed a large abundance of new style technic parts, which I welcome, there is also a major use of traditional (...) (21 years ago, 13-Apr-03, to lugnet.technic)

  my technic set idea

Which set has 12- and 20 tooth double bevel gears?

Since I'm getting more and more into the Technic stuff I'm trying to build models which can operate like the real ones. I have many, many Technic sets but 95% of them are from the period 1977 to approx. 1999. Since then I haven't bought Technic sets (...) (21 years ago, 13-Apr-03, to lugnet.technic)
