  Re: Steering Instructions

The 8466 also does this. Actually, the 8466 does pretty much everything the 8880 does except four wheel steering, and that's easily solved. (just extend the steering gear to the backwheels and mount the rack in front of the rear wheels, assuming the (...) (22 years ago, 7-Sep-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Steering Instructions

(...) AFAIK the only LEGO car to feature this is 8880, you might be able to borrow idea's from that design. The instructions can be found on Brickshelf. (22 years ago, 7-Sep-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Steering Instructions

Anybody know where I can find out info on various steering configuations for full time 4WD? Pictures would be most welcome..Thanks in advance :-) (22 years ago, 7-Sep-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Pneumatic tubes capabilities

It's a pity there isn't a remote-control pneumatic switch you could connect up to Mindstorms or a similar system. I would *love* to be able to remotely control switches, this would solve your problem somewhat by drastically cutting (figuratively (...) (22 years ago, 7-Sep-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Pneumatic tubes capabilities

(...) I don't thing tube stretch is a factor here. The pneumatic tubes do not expand very much at the normal pressures of Lego pnuematics. The tubes are relatively stiff. The volume comes from just the long length of tubing. (Think of a volume (...) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-02, to lugnet.technic)

(...) In a way, that was what I meant: since the tubes are made of rubber, they are somewhat elastic (thus they can increase their volume significantly if they are long enough). (...) Ok, I guess I got it: it can work, but it must be always "on", (...) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Pneumatic tubes capabilities

(...) From my experience, you can have really long tubes (10~20 feet, or more) and not have significant losses due to friction. What you should be concerned with is the volume of the tubes. Basically, if you have a lot of long tubes, your system (...) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Pneumatic tubes capabilities

Hi, I have recently developed a pneumatic gizmo to remotely act on my train track points, which is working quite nicely. The thing is, I don't know *how far apart* can I place the compressor so that the loss of charge in the tubes isn't too big. Has (...) (22 years ago, 6-Sep-02, to lugnet.technic)
