I'm the kind of Lego collector that likes to store my sets in their original
boxes.  When moving these boxes from one location to another, if the box is
slightly tilted and the top flap opens I have many pieces spilling out of
the box and all over the floor.

A solution would be to put all the parts in a zip lock bags and then
putting the bags into the boxes.  This seems to work well for me when
moving built models from one place to another.  The parts that break loose
are retained inside the bags, making it easier to rebuild.

hey, this is one of those "why didn't i think of that" ideas. EXCELLENT, gary!
thanks a lot for this inspired idea that is going to save me from a lot of
stress (and incidentally save a lot of bricks that could have gone missing).

Heh heh, I feel pretty weird now -- I have Zip-Loc bags on the *outside* of
some of my boxes -- so that when I move them, I don't scratch them against each
other.  I do build and play with all my pieces, but I want the artwork on the
boxes to be preserved.  Most of the artwork from the smaller boxes and
instructions are in 3-ring binders...

(...) each (...) the (...) What do you do with the artwork from the larger boxes? I've been looking for a instructions/box/catalog storage solution along the lines of a 3-ring binder, but the larger boxes wouldn't fit (I only keep top and bottom). (...) (26 years ago, 4-Dec-98, to lugnet.storage)
