Set: B-Wing at Rebel Command Center (# 7180)

[Snipped review, if you haven't read, go do so!]

Very well-done review.  I agree with everything you said.

This is a great set.  It's the first SW set to feature a 'building'.  Well, at
least sort of.

The ship is sizeable, the parts are good, the rotating cockpit works well, the
hinged base is a nice example for young builders, and the sliding doors are
nicely done.

My nitpicks, both major and minor (but in no particular order), on the set are:

1. What's the droid doing there?  It doesn't have anything to do with the ship.

2. Compared to the ground vehicle in the X-Wing set, which was very nicely done,
the B-Wing's ground vehicle is goofy-looking.  What's worse, I don't remember
that this ground vehicle matches anything in the movies.  It doesn't help that I
don't like LEGO's new obsession with using click-hinge bricks to make crane
arms. Blech.

3. The B-Wing Fighter is too flimsy.  Not enough meat on those bones!

4. The method of joining the two main plates of the central wing is just cheesy.

5. The model fails to capture the curved, organic lines of the actual ship.[1]
This is actually my biggest gripe with the set, although I realize it would be a
challenge to do this with LEGO bricks.

1) Can a pretend spaceship in a fantasy movie be referred to as 'actual'?
