Re: Picture of Falcon? —Geoff Hardy
That looks either: a) like a fan design, or b) an early mockup that does NOT look like a final TLG product to me. I have faith in them and so should you. Shame on you! :-) However, I have NO illusions about the Falcon myself. I expect it to be out (...) (25 years ago, 22-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Picture of Falcon? —Charles Spindell
Please let this not be TLG's interpretation of the MF. Please... But the only thing that scares me is the cockpit. I have never seen it before in any Lego sets. Can anyone confirm that? (25 years ago, 22-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Picture of Falcon? —James Brown
(...) Nor to me. At the very least, I would expect a final version to have a printed piece for the cockpit. (...) I bet there's more parents willing to spend more than $100 on a MF model for their kids (and more kids clamoring for one!) than for a (...) (25 years ago, 22-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Picture of Falcon? —James Simpson
(...) I hope that you're right, but if it is not somehow officially associated with TLG, then where did that canopy come from? Also, I'm puzzled about something . . . take a look at the radar dish. Notice the white coloration that appears between (...) (25 years ago, 22-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Picture of Falcon? —Jeremy Sproat
(...) I'm suspecting MegaBlocks or another clone, but I have no proof... Yet... (...) This photo is definitely a chop jop. At the very least, all the background except for some schmuck's hand has been masked. Looks like parts of the aft section and (...) (25 years ago, 22-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Picture of Falcon? —Dave Lovelace
(...) No builder in the world unaffiliated with TLG, with this much ability, would in his/her right mind ever go to so much trouble to piss off his fellow builders. Why would anyone bother designing a mock-up like this, with just the right amount (...) (25 years ago, 23-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Picture of Falcon? —Robert Brunskill
---...--- (...) that (...) I think I just realized why this photo is so funky. It's a cyan and black color plate from a print, I don't see any obvious Magenta or Yellow. This means that any details done primarily with Magenta and Yellow won't show (...) (25 years ago, 22-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Picture of Falcon? —Steve Bliss
(...) I see what you mean. Could all that missing detail really be the lack of Magenta and Yellow? So I'm imagining the picture with two more UFO hulls on back side. Yeah, that does help balance things out. Now I'm hoping that the fact that (...) (25 years ago, 23-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Picture of Falcon? —Peter Merryman
(...) I agree the photo is very messed up. Whoever prepared it did a very quick and dirty masking job. One wonders why. What was in the background that they wanted to mask off? Anyway, the blue mask is done so badly it's creeping in to the model (...) (25 years ago, 23-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Picture of Falcon? —Dave Lovelace
(...) It goes beyond money. Considering these are still considered childrens' toys, I wouldn't be surprised if there was another factor: the model's weight. There's probably a weight limit. I've seen all the beautiful purist models out there too, (...) (25 years ago, 23-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)
