And were the Dewbacks local or did they bring their own? It would seem
unlikely that the All Powerfull Empire would have to scrounge up local
transport, but on the other hand a Star Destroyer doesnt seem to be an ideal
environment for the care and feeding of such beasts.

Dewbacks being local is more logical than Banthas. After all, lizards are good
at adapting to desert conditions. Hairy animals not so good.
|
ps And another thing, in a sparse desert environment such as Tattooine, where
does a herd of Banthas find enough to eat?
|
Indead - they are as big as an elephant, with no savannah grasses or trees to
snack on to keep up their mass. And the hair - I think the Banthas would be
more suited for a wooly mamoth habitat than for an arid climate. Then again,
were not shown the polar caps of Tatoonine, so maybe the mean sandpeople forced
them to live out of their natural environment? Bad, naughty sandpeople. You go
Anakin... ;-)
