The first two books that I bought (from amazon) was EGttVV and The Star Wars
Technical Journal (pretty lame, except having good 3/4-page foldout
drawings). All the other Essential guides (characters, weapons and
technology, droids, planets) are on order (and mailed to me weeks ago
according to amazon) and expected to be in my hands before June, 2nd
(according to amazon, again).

My next order will include The Star Wars Encyclopedia, The Incredible Cross
Sections, and A Guide to the Star Wars Universe...Until then I will be
believing my Star Wars reference library is completed...:-)

"Essential guides" are very nice and pretty detailed (and professional
looking, to my taste, assuming all of them would "taste" like vehicles and
vessels issue). Those latter three look like nice and "should have" things,
according to reviews, page count and its own claims (if not only a marketing
hoax).

Any suggestions?

Ack!  No, you seem to be getting the major ones.  I usually just browse these
things at the bookstores.  I am not much for buying them.

My only "suggestion" is more of a wish.  I wish the Star Wars technical type
manuals were a little more detailed.   The "Essential Guides" are nice, but
they are so plain.  Compare them to some of the Star Trek technical manuals.
Those often have a wealth of detail in glorious color.  I was just looking at
this one for ST: DS9, and thinking how I wish the SW books looked that good.
