1st rule: NEVER go by what you see in the movie!! In one scene, the AT-AT's could easily be 100 M tall, wheras in the scene when the foot steps on luke's snowspeeder, it is significantly smaller (to scale w/ the foot, maybe 10 M tall at the (...) (23 years ago, 4-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) Well I do agree that 50' would just seem too small. The version I made at (URL) Is slightly smaller than minifig scale and according to the stud height, it's over 50'. (...) A more refined guess: 80' - 96' (...) I checked snowspeeder length a bit more closely. They're about 16 feet long, +/- a foot. So revamp that guess to 60' - 68' (a little over in each case). Here's a thought, maybe there are several different sizes of AT-AT based on purpose. A larger 80ft one that contains vehicles and a smaller 50ft version that is a people transport. Just a thought. I know the books say otherwise, but maybe the books (...) (23 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) Yep. "Average" human heights are very interesting. Go over to Asia, and people are shorter than people living in Europe. BUT if you go strictly by the fact that the foot of the AT-AT covers the Snowspeeder and take into account the size of the LEGO Snowspeeder. In order to accomplish the AT-AT foot being the right size it would HAVE to be HUGE. This would also support (...) (23 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)

If you consider that LEGO uses existing pieces where they can, I can imagine each foot would use one of those tiny "saucer" pieces like the AT-ST foot, or the Millenium Falcon landing gear. (...) The even sadder thing is that the snowspeeder is one of the few SW models Lego's made that's actually LARGER than it 'should' be-- making the required AT-AT foot even bigger :) If I recall correctly, the 7130 is 18 studs long, making it about (...) (23 years ago, 6-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)
