  Re: 2001 set info

(...) Hey, or maybe it was a misplaced decimal? UCS AT-ST for $99.99, anyone? (I'm not mocking you, by the way, in fact, I say you're most likely right or pretty close to it.)   Re: 2001 set info

(...) Yeah. I really can't imagine an AT-ST for $10. You try making a AT-ST out of the Flash Speeder.... =\ -- Andrew, Agent 0007 (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

  re: 2001 set info

You guys are all saying that the new atst is going to suck because it is only $9.99, but a at-st at that price isn't even feasible. Could it be that there was a cut off at the begining of the price? I'm only a kid so I might be like totally wrong (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: who's feelin the black pack?

(...) Right on. I'd suggest they are delving in WAY too much. Suggesting that TLG make different coloured heads to represent "black heroes" in minifig form is imposing foolish Western Hemisphere PC politics upon a company based in a place that is (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Put the issue to bed (was: who's feelin the black pack?)

(...) And this is the problem with licensing movies, books, etc. If the main character is to be "acurately" represented, there must be "colored" minifigs. This has not been done with Star Wars to date. Luke Skywalker (as seen in the movies) is not (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: who's feelin the black pack?

(...) Nonsense! They clearly represent indivual characters. Whether they represent the races of the actors who portray those characters is debatable. The most consistent thing (with the LEGO yellow is neutral assumption) would be to release Mace and (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: who's feelin the black pack?

(...) I've avoided commenting on this discussion (I'm pretty sure I have. I may have posted in RTL the first time it came up.) <sarcasm>After all, I'm a European-descended male from the States. I'm not allowed to have opinions on race.</sarcasm> My (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: who's feelin the black pack?

(...) No one here is suggesting that ABS is flesh or that minifigs are real people, but to assert that the Luke, Leia, Han, et al minifigs do not represent a particular group is flatly incorrect. Dave! (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: who's feelin the black pack?

Blah blah blah. I'm an Asian-American--which means I'm "yellow." So his whole time, Lego minifigs have been Asian-American. Right? Give me a break. Unlike flesh, the ABS plastic used to make Lego is specifically-colored--NOT gradients of other (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Where Brooklyn at? (Was: racial politics, black pack, etc.)

Damien, I really don't want to reply to this thread, but it seems to me that this whole race issue is being blown to the infinite amount of distortion on this thread. I will let TLC decide whether or not to make DSM's or whatever politically correct (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Where Brooklyn at? (Was: racial politics, black pack, etc.)

Judging from our posts to this thread, I'm finding that we really agree on most of the points of this issue, a relief for sure because i was getting really depressed about some of the viewpoints that were expressed on this issue by lugnetters. But (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) Sorry Y'all, I can't agree that this Lando's "instantly recognizable." I doubt that any of us would be quick to make such an assumption if we saw the same incarnation of him alone in another setting, or in a context without a written key. I'd (...) Does anyone own one of these yet? Can you provide details? - Is the MicroScout the same as the DDK? (Is the coloring the same?) - Any cool new parts? - Any news on programming the P mode yet? - Sean (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Where are the Neimoidians?... (SW:EpI villains)

(...) But in the story as it stands, there aren't many places for subtitles. Boss Nass could be a possibility, but I don't think the plot would have been better served by having JarJar speak in full Gungan with subtitling. Any inclusion of JarJar at (...)
