I lived in Japan for a year, full emersion, and am conversationally capable
(not quite fluent) in the language, and I've been complemented often on my
Japanese accent and a couple of times mistaken for a native speaker on the
phone by native Japanese speakers.
My first impression of the Nemoidians was that they sounded like a deliberate
American charicature of a Japanese accent. I was more than a little miffed.
Aside from Jar Jar, Midichlorians, and the Imaculate Conception, losing the
subtitles was the worst thing Lucas did in TPM, IMHO.

Boss Nass could be a possibility, but I don't think the plot would have been better served by having JarJar speak in full Gungan with subtitling. Any inclusion of JarJar at (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)
