Re: moonbase modules in the works

Yep. If the mecha walks head-first into the mecha bay, then there is a little ramp that allows access to the mecha. I'm going to add a pull-back gantry as well on one side to allow access when the mecha is facing 'outward'. I'm also going to add (...) (22 years ago, 8-Aug-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Moonbase & 32x32 landing pads

(...) I think you have a nice start but it creates clearance issues for ground vehicles and people. Perhaps some ramps at various locations would help. You could look at a level landing pad as being a ground level foundation that is painted. Since (...) (22 years ago, 14-Aug-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Moonbase & 32x32 landing pads

(...) Well, I approve. I like the concept. (...) In my opinion fully elevated pads are the way to go. Guiding a craft between all of those modules to the platform could get a little hairy if the Instrument Landing System goes down. ;-) -Duane (URL) (...) (22 years ago, 14-Aug-02, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Introducing the Moonbase Project

(...) I really don't see why the above suggestion should be shot down. As long as the borders of the baseplates conform to the original 48x48 standard (i.e. tunnel connectors in the center of at least some of the 48 stud long sides), it will still (...) (22 years ago, 31-Jul-02, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Introducing the Moonbase Project

(...) Or, as someone else suggested, just make sure your 32x32 plates are arranged in a 3x3 pattern (9 plates), so that they are the equivalent of four 48x48 plates arranged in a square. Just make sure your tunnels are built and aligned to the 48x48 (...) (22 years ago, 31-Jul-02, to lugnet.space)
