  Hercules Class Capital Frigate

Exterior digital shots only right now. I will get some better photos for the interiors developed and posted later this week or so. (URL) "Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Out" Crew complement: 9 minimum, 12 standard with partial hot bunking for night (...) (24 years ago, 3-Mar-01, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Hercules Class Capital Frigate

(...) Let me be the first to comment since I was so late in my Destroyer opinions. Looks great, Trevor! The sides are very nicely articulated--overall, it's got a nice texture. I love the big guns on top as well, which I know you also used for your (...) (24 years ago, 3-Mar-01, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Hercules Class Capital Frigate

(...) Hey, thanks Peter! :^) I really tryed to pay attention to the flow of the hull and the color scheme in this one. My initial concept sketches had the "Belly" module in place - in reality it was supposed to completely integrated, but I think (...) (24 years ago, 3-Mar-01, to lugnet.space)

Very cool! I dig the look of this one, very rugged! Also like the way you used the small white baseplates from the arctic set. Those baseplates come in handy, eh? Those big ships eat up regular plates fast. Anyway, keep up the good work. Dan (24 years ago, 4-Mar-01, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Hercules Class Capital Frigate

(...) Thanks, Dan! :^) Tim Courtney told me a little while back that he had a high ratio of plates to bricks that enabled the completion and look of his joint destroyer project. But you really have to be thrifty when your ratios are more like 1 (...) (24 years ago, 4-Mar-01, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Hercules Class Capital Frigate

(...) Exactly! The only drawback, of course, is you gotta sacrifice underside detail and sturdiness. But, big baseplates do end up reducing the overall weight of the model. My carrier was actually pretty light. It had lots of tiny pieces that (...) (24 years ago, 4-Mar-01, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Hercules Class Capital Frigate

(...) Great frigate! ;) It seems like a lot of people are using those Arctic SPUDs on their big ships, which is a good idea. Like everyone else, I can't wait for interior shots! -- dataAndrew (URL) (24 years ago, 4-Mar-01, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Hercules Class Capital Frigate

(...) <snip> (...) You noticed that...heh... :^) I would prefer two white plates as opposed to grey. Those plates are there to allow me to attach underside modules and to easily remove the modules afterwards. They also allowed me add the underside (...) (24 years ago, 4-Mar-01, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Hercules Class Capital Frigate

ok i liked this one so much that even tho i just moved and had to cope w/ modem speed dl's and no DSL yet i dl'd every pic the IDEA is great the execution is really good so far, but i see a lot of 90 degree angles and blocky corners. for this kind (...) (24 years ago, 7-Mar-01, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Hercules Class Capital Frigate

(...) Well, Peter Guenther also commented on the sharp 90 degree angle from the con tower to the main body and back again. Also, I have to contend with the flat underside of the main body section. I will be placing a modular module in that area that (...) (24 years ago, 8-Mar-01, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Hercules Class Capital Frigate

(...) Well, *that's* a relief. A stationary module wouldn't work very well, would it? ;^) ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (24 years ago, 8-Mar-01, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Hercules Class Capital Frigate

(...) BWAHAHAHAHA...uh... ok ok...at least you get the picture of what I'm trying to do there. It goes: clickity-click, barba-trick! Voila! New configuration. ;^) ~Trev Astro Lift Co. (24 years ago, 8-Mar-01, to lugnet.space)
