  Re: Melpomene

(...) Thanks for the comments. I really enjoyed this build. And I'm still amazed at how much weight the landing gear can take. Those giant click hinges are what makes it possible. On the other hand, they're so dang stiff that I have to squeeze the (...) (20 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: NovaFlare GTX

(...) Sorry, I was trying to distinguish between canopies and cockpits. I don't think I showed an underside pic, but under the B-wing canopies, I've used trans black cockpits from the recent World City helicoptors. Originally, I had used the trans (...) (20 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Marvin the Paranoid Android

(...) Nice. I think you really nailed the depressed look. (...) Your setup looks good. I really need to get around to buying some better lighting.   Spheres

(...) I recently made a smaller plate sphere in the same vein as Bruce's design: (URL) Enjoy. --Bram (20 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: NovaFlare GTX

Hey Kirby, Even with the best camera on the market, photographing all black MOC's will always be a special challenge. However, from what I can see of this one, it rocks! That is by far the best and most unusual and yet totally cool usage of the big (...) (20 years ago, 1-May-05, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Marvin the Paranoid Android

(...) While I like it (and had to go and investigate the Lowell Sphere which is a rather neat construct), I was a little disappointed it was the new Marvin. Still that leaves room for others to try the old one... Danny (20 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Marvin the Paranoid Android

(URL) Also, I took a photo of the set up I did for the pictures of Marvin. Relatively simple, I think. (URL) Hosted on Flickr> -Lenny (20 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX) !!

  DeepSnoop MKI

Due to the nature of the camera I was using for the first shoot of this MOC, some people were confused as to which end was the front. I chose to do no modifying on this MOC. At the time it was constructed, this was virtualy all the brown pieces I (...) (20 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Terminus fast pursuit craft

Thanks for your time! This little MOC was the result of several tedious hours of trying to build something with my yellow collection at the time. Believe it or not, what you see in this MOC is almost all I had! Around this time, I discovered that I (...) (20 years ago, 2-May-05, to lugnet.space)

  Re: NovaFlare GTX

Thanks for the honesty! Admittedly, there were a number of failures with this MOC, mostly due to my parts selection at the time (this was built a few years ago). While I did give it a minor facelift with the reshoot, I simply didn't want to rebuild (...) (20 years ago, 2-May-05, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Microscale battlecruiser "Triton"

Thanks for taking the time to comment! I'll confess that I was torn between the choices of what to do with the bridge. Somewhere I tossed a mental coin and simply stuck with the decision. Others also have said I should have added more detail to the (...) (20 years ago, 2-May-05, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Two more micros

Yes, I scrimped on the tanker. There's always the MKII!! Everything about the Penguin was an accident...everything. I don't have a lot of white slopes, so I was just sort of placing pieces together and one thing led to another and...there was also a (...) (20 years ago, 2-May-05, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Melpomene

(...) I like it! As a ship, it's pretty cool. I like the engines, both the large main engines at the rear and the movable landing engines. I also like the landing gear a lot. They seem to hold up the ship well, yet still fold up out of the way when (...) (20 years ago, 2-May-05, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Terminus fast pursuit craft

(...) The yellow flaps are nice, and you used the main colors very nicely. The integration of the SW engines on the bottom is good too. The cockpit looks a little bit too busy because of so much printing in a relatively small place. My only other (...) (20 years ago, 2-May-05, to lugnet.space)

  Re: NovaFlare GTX

(...) plates. That doesn't seem to work too well. And the almost-monochrome black isn't doing it for me either. The big downward-sloped bit on the front seems particularly awkward and tacked on. So do the engines on the back. The shape would be a (...) (20 years ago, 2-May-05, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Two more micors

(...) I love the tanker. The tip of the nose could be a bit more interesting, but the rest is beautiful. The landing gear is the best. I'm not too crazy about the Penguin, though you do have some neat part usage. What I really like on this one is (...) (20 years ago, 2-May-05, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Microscale battlecruiser "Triton"

(...) as the triangular pods below. Nice color scheme, too. You've got some strong theming going on with how you positioned the blocks of dark grey at the rear, along with well-controlled use of red. The leading edge between the pods seems like it (...) (20 years ago, 2-May-05, to lugnet.space)

  Melpomene

Melpomene is both the 100th model gallery on my site and my first SHIP over 100 studs. She is a passenger transport crewed by 9 women and adapted to their particular needs. She cruises the spacelanes, looking for pirates to bring to justice. (You've (...) (20 years ago, 2-May-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX) !!

Re: New MOC: Neue Prussian Destroyer

(...) That's got a lovely design aesthetic, though I'm not sure about the "teeth" details--they break up the sleek black feel of the prow. The engine detail is lovely, and are a great use of those new ball-joint sockets. So how big is this (...) (20 years ago, 2-May-05, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: New MOC: Neue Prussian Destroyer

(...) Really Beautiful! This is a gorgeous design. I particularly like the half hinge pieces mounted on top (that may be nothing new I'm not a space expert...) I also like the overall feel and 'balance' of the model. Anything that uses the new (...) (20 years ago, 2-May-05, to lugnet.space, FTX)
