| | Is there a guide to which bricks go best with which transparent elements?

I am planning on building a Space MOC, and I wanted to know if there are any guides which can help to pick viable colors for space cockpits. Obviously if using certain transparent cockpit elements, they will block some colors, so is there some easy (...) (20 years ago, 5-Dec-04, to lugnet.space)

(...) What an Interesting idea. as far as I know, no there isn't a "guide" but damn, I'm starting to think there should be one. I would make one, but I don't care that much since I only use Smoke (or Trans Black), Trans Blue (light and dark) and (...) (20 years ago, 5-Dec-04, to lugnet.space)

(...) I have been thinking about this thing since i read your post, and after a while I had come up with three different solutions (though i still think there should be a guide somewhere to make it easier for all of us). The first one requires that (...) (20 years ago, 5-Dec-04, to lugnet.space)

(...) I think the main problem with this is that color combinations are pretty subjective. Some people might put yellow elements behind a blue windscreen and think it looks great, while others may not like that look. Some people like black against (...) (20 years ago, 5-Dec-04, to lugnet.space)

(...) I might be missing the point of your question completely, but are you sure you dont have a sample of the transparent colour (some small piece) you can place on top of whatever solid colours youd whish to test (and look through)? If not, what (...) (20 years ago, 5-Dec-04, to lugnet.space)

Doesn't really apply to your question but I ran into this awhile ago and have yet to use it in an MOC: If you put a trans-dark blue visor on a minifig and place him under trans-red glass, the visor will become black. I believe it should work the (...) (20 years ago, 5-Dec-04, to lugnet.space)

I noticed this when I ran out of red visors for my SP1 force (URL) can kind of see it here Trans Green goes almost black behind a red cockpit but you can still just make out the smile behind it (20 years ago, 6-Dec-04, to lugnet.space)

(...) There is a way. You put the colors you want to experiment with next to each other. Get a transparent canopy, and put it on a few pieces of another color. Does it work for you? Maybe the pairing is plain and unimpressive. Get another color to (...) (20 years ago, 7-Dec-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)
