Pinpoint--entry for the Military Hover Contest —Kyle Vrieze
My entry for the Military Hover Contest is the Pinpoint, a two-man hover gunship. At 30 studs long, it slots in to the medium category. Click either pic for the Brickshelf gallery: (2 URLs) There's also a (URL) mocpages> entry. I'd like feedback on (...) (20 years ago, 15-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX) !

Extremely nice model ya got there Kyle. This is exactly the kind of building I was hoping for in this kinda of contest. ;) It has been added to the contest page, and is the sole entry for multi-man catagory at the moment. Rick (20 years ago, 15-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Pinpoint--entry for the Military Hover Contest —Kyle Vrieze
(...) Great! I was concerned it might not fit with the contest, but I'm glad you liked it. Also my thanks to you for coming up with the idea for the contest, it helped jump-start me into building mode this weekend, and I was pleased with the (...)      Hi Kyle, Lovely hover ship! The bug shape works very well for a VTOL of some kind. I like the canopy design. I guess the angle you use for that is something difficult to make, and you made it look easy. I also like the plating around the engines, it (...) (20 years ago, 15-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Pinpoint--entry for the Military Hover Contest —Kyle Vrieze
(...) Thanks for the feedback! The entire front cowling is set at a downward angle using a pair of click-hinge bricks buried in the middle. It's not too sturdy, but it provides enough headroom for the minifigs while letting the nose come to a sharp (...) (20 years ago, 16-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

(...) I love it. I want to whoosh it. The tan and dkred make me happy, like it's my birthday. -Grand Admiral .space Curator (URL) (20 years ago, 15-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

(...) So far it sounds like the tan was a plus. Thanks for the feedback! (20 years ago, 16-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Kyle, That's some serious baditude ya got there! Superb all-around. More words would just get in the way. Dave "kyle vrieze" <freze*nospam*@comcast.net> wrote in message news:I77C2G.JC2@lugnet.com... (...) either (...) (2 URLs) (...) but I (...) (20 years ago, 15-Nov-04, to lugnet.space)

(...) Glad you enjoyed it, Dave. I was thinking your Cloud Cruiser would have been perfect for this contest. Maybe we'll see an entry from you? (20 years ago, 16-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Pinpoint--entry for the Military Hover Contest —David Simmons
I haven't hopped on the contest bandwagon yet for several reasons. I spend almost as much time tweaking my designs as I do constructing them, so the pressure of a deadline would probably make me a little crazy (and I'm crazy enough!). I'd also be (...)         Re: Pinpoint--entry for the Military Hover Contest —Erik Schroer
Luckily, this is in the multi-man category or else my entry would be screwed. I'll most likely be releasing as soon as I figure out how to take good pictures. Is there a tutorial anywhere for such? The Pinpoint is an awesome combination of colors, (...) (20 years ago, 16-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Pinpoint--entry for the Military Hover Contest —Kyle Vrieze
(...) Try searching on "photography tips" in Lugnet news. I can offer a few tips. Get some white paper for a background. Put plenty of light on the model, but realize that the bare flash on your camera will probably hurt more than it helps. I got a (...) (20 years ago, 17-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Pinpoint--entry for the Military Hover Contest —Erik Schroer
Thanks for the tips Kyle! Now that I've takenm the time to review your entire brickshelf folder I see what you mean with the emphasis on big guns. However, I see you've had some practice with this type of modeling. The Bolt, the Armed Shuttle, and (...) (20 years ago, 17-Nov-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)
