That’s why my original idea was to have the pics hosted on Brickshelf, and the links page hosted here.

   The only way to guarantee that they are permanently available is to store them all in a secure location, and that would necessarily violate the copyrights of every participant by not allowing them to remove them at a later date.

Perhaps “permanently available” is too much, then. But I think that “available as long as Brickshelf (or LUGNet) exists” is probably good enough. Let’s face it, if Brickshelf dissolves (without notice, especially), whether this proposed MOC catalog works or not is probably the least of everyone’s concerns. Unless every Brickshelf poster has backup copies of their pics somewhere else...
