  Moonbase Project: Volcanic Energy Refinery

Backstory: The Octan Corporation found the moonbase idea compelling enough to seek out a spot on the dark side of the moon where the volcanoes are. Having harnessed the power of active volcanoes for decades now, setting up a base overhanging this (...) (22 years ago, 8-Sep-02, to lugnet.space) !!

(...) Very cool moonbase module. My only concern is that you did not follow the placement standards outlined here: (URL) know it would take some work but you might want to remake it using the standard. -Mike Petrucelli (22 years ago, 8-Sep-02, to lugnet.space)

(...) My first impression was that he was using 32 studs wide rather than 48. Upon closer inspection it appears I was wrong. Sorry about that. (...) Ah well. I'll get over it. :-) -Mike Petrucelli (22 years ago, 9-Sep-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Moonbase Project: Volcanic Energy Refinery

(...) Yeah, I figured that someone would bring this up. I've followed the standard except where the baseplates wouldn't allow for it. The one thing I didn't want was a walkway over the volcano, so using both sides of the larger baseplates was a (...) (22 years ago, 9-Sep-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Moonbase Project: Volcanic Energy Refinery

(...) Yes, but you didn't allow 4 studs of space on each side. I thought that was mandatory....? However, it's very nicely done. Except of course for the fact that there are no volcanos on the moon, or air for the helicopter to fly in, but you can (...) (22 years ago, 9-Sep-02, to lugnet.space)

(...) Hi Dave, I was sorry I wasn't able to make it to this LUGOLA meeting. If I can get to the next meeting I will be sure to build a moonbase module. Bruce (22 years ago, 9-Sep-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Moonbase Project: Volcanic Energy Refinery

First, let me say that I love the general look and feel of Dave's module. There have been so many new Modules during the past month it is hard to comment on them all. I'm so excited by all this. I almost can't wait for an earthquake to destroy my (...) (22 years ago, 9-Sep-02, to lugnet.space)

RE: Moonbase Project: Volcanic Energy Refinery

(...) Well, we can be a bit more lenient on that point than the others...the purpose of the 4 stud space is to allow small vehicles to pass through. As long as enough people have them, it shouldn't be a problem if there are a *few* exceptions. (...) (22 years ago, 10-Sep-02, to lugnet.space)
