Backstory: The Octan Corporation found the moonbase idea compelling enough
to seek out a spot on the dark side of the moon where the volcanoes are.
Having harnessed the power of active volcanoes for decades now, setting up a
base overhanging this volcano proved to be relatively simple for the most
powerful energy company in existence. Once the refinery/research center was
complete, Octan decided to add a dock to the other side of the volcano to
allow for tourism. A hotel may soon follow if Octan can subcontract this
project out.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's time I unveiled my first contribution to the Moonbase Project: The
Octan Vocanic Energy Facility. Constucted upon a total of 7 baseplates (2 32
x 32 for the refinery floor and roof, 2 32 x 48 Rock Raiders raised rock
plates, 2 8 x 32 SSMM baseplates, and 1 32 x 32 SSMM earthquake baseplate)
measuring 48 x 96.
The refinery itself has a removable roof, but there are no pics of this
currently. The interior is incomplete, but that isn't the part I wanted to
show off anyway. ;p
Parts used in this project:
tons of orange to cover up the earthquake plate
16 triangular BURPs
4 rectangular BURPs
10 LOM hoses (goota siphon the energy somehow...)
8 8x8 Dk Grey Bricks
Way more white 1 x 6 bricks than should be legal on a moonbase project.
Future plans for this module:
an extensive retrofit of the interior and possibly a second level.
turning the tourism dock into much more than that, likely keeping with the
Octan colorscheme as well.
