I have a 100 MHz computer, connected to the Net via a 56K modem dialup,
with an old scanner that I got second-(or third-)hand for about $25.
It works fine.  My Lego collection is OK, but not the biggest, and I can't
just go online and buy bulk when I want to.  But I have pieces, and can build
with them. After reading this debate, I went to LDraw.org, downloaded,
installed, and played with MLCAD.  It works fine, even on my little old
clunker.  So when my pieces run out, I can let my imagination run with the CAD
program.
My point is, as Capt. Kirk pointed out, "I like to believe there are
always options."  Or something like that.
Jesse, I don't believe you should take all this so seriously.  Play, and
enjoy your life, and don't lose sight of all the options that are out there in
our world for you to have fun.  Now is a good time to be a grownup child.
Sieze the day.  Play well.
Everyone else, I don't believe you should take Jesse so seriously.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and part of the strength of this forum is
that we can all express ourselves in our own ways.  If you don't like an
opinion, you can always move on to something else that does catch your fancy.
Instead of focusing on the "I'd like to ask for help" thing, we all seemed to
jump on the "Oh, by the way, I'd do things this way instead" thing.  Well,
isn't that what we all do with our bricks and minifigs?  Why pound the guy for
verbalizing what we all do in the first place?  Lugnet is here exactly for that
reason, to share our ideas, isn't it?  Leg Godt.
Just some thoughts from a newbie.

Peace and Long Life,
Tony Alexander

(...) My mom has a cheap scanner hooked up to her 166 MHz computer with 16 or 32 MB of RAM and it works fine. --Bram Bram Lambrecht bram@cwru.edu www.bldesign.org (22 years ago, 28-Aug-02, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.space)
