To be fair to the constituency, though, Jesse has offhandedly speculated
that he has any disease we can name, and he mentions "suspecting" that he
has Asberger's. With all due respect to Jesse and to mental illness in
general, it's not fair to require the readership to keep a laundry list of
potential mental illnesses that any other poster might have (of course, I
suspect Bruce Schlickbernd of megalomania and hysterical pregnancy, but
that's another matter entirely). I am inclined to sympathize with Jesse,
but if his suspicions are based on self-diagnosis (especially of a nebulous
and quite rare malady), then his diagnosis carries little weight and may be
worse than none at all, if indeed he suffers from an ailment of which he is
unaware. Further, when the symptoms of his self-professed and unverifiable
mental illness are indistinguishable from the symptoms of deliberate
trolling, one may be forgiven for responding to him as one would respond to
a troll.
