Time to write Lego Consumer Affairs a (nasty) letter.. —Jordan Greer
This topic can also be called: "The decline of the Lego Group." It's high time that I complained to these guys! Lego has been getting cheaper and cheaper, and cutting as many corners as possible in recent years... My first beef: The ($20) 1200 (...) (23 years ago, 28-Feb-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Time to write Lego Consumer Affairs a (nasty) letter.. —Abner Finley
Hey settle down...please. A lot of people online or even offline do and do not agree with you. But I understand how you feel. Then again I understand more and more everyday the reasons why the LEGO Company is doing what it is doing. Speaking from (...) (23 years ago, 5-Mar-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Time to write Lego Consumer Affairs a (nasty) letter.. —Jordan Greer
(...) Bah, I understand why Lego has been doing this. The toy market is awfully competitive, and many kids go for the flashier electronic gadgets (here in the USA at any rate) and what not, thus cutting down on Lego sales. Even though Lego HAS to (...)      In lugnet.space, Jordan Greer writes: [snip] (...) Indeed it has! my records indicated that, I paid 20.3 Aust cents per piece in 1999, 14.7 Aust cents per piece in 2000 and 10.9 Aust cents per piece in 2001. Surely that's a good thing?         Re: Time to write Lego Consumer Affairs a (nasty) letter.. —Lindsay Frederick Braun
(...) While I'm in sympathy with much of what you're saying, Jordan, I've got to take exception to your use of profanity in a public forum. It's bad form, and there are small children who read regularly (even if they don't post). Alternately, why (...) (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Time to write Lego Consumer Affairs a (nasty) letter.. —Travis Matheson
(...) I have to say that I pretty much agree with most everything you have said. I thought that the Bonical stuff, though interesting, really wasn't LEGO in the traditional sense, Jack Stone is an abonimation. I was never ever going to pay that much (...)         Re: Time to write Lego Consumer Affairs a (nasty) letter.. —Mark D. McKean
(...) And this is the information that TLC seems to be ignoring. When the very children they're targeting think the sets are too simple, the designers are definitely moving in the wrong direction. Ultimately, after all, what kids like that want is (...)         Re: Time to write Lego Consumer Affairs a (nasty) letter.. —Deidre Rushton Brumby
(...) Hi Travis, over in loc.au we're told that the Alpha Team is a Kmart exclusive in Australia, and some sets have already been spotted in store. I'm not going to respond to the rest of this thread this time, as I've had a few like minded long (...) (23 years ago, 9-Mar-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Time to write Lego Consumer Affairs a (nasty) letter.. —John Henry Kruer
(...) I agree totally. But the interesting thing is... I'm twelve! Maybe thats a bit old for most of Lego's stuff- but even before I discovered Lugnet(last year) I'd had harder and harder times picking out what to buy. I used to always dash to the (...)      (...) John, I have a hard time to believe you are 12. You wrote an inteligent, articulate, well thought out post. Maybe there is hope for your generation after all. :-) Jude XFUT .lego.direct (23 years ago, 9-Mar-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Time to write Lego Consumer Affairs a (nasty) letter.. —Matt Hein
(...) No way! It's funny how Lego has to resort to large, chunky parts in order to appeal to the younger crowd. But, in total irony, the younger crowd deems these sets as 'simple' and 'lame'. If Lego went back to its traditional values, I suspect (...) (23 years ago, 9-Mar-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Time to write Lego Consumer Affairs a (nasty) letter.. —Jordan Greer
(...) Thanks for responding people! Travis, I'm glad that someone else has taken notice of this year's terrible product lineup. Actually, I too couldn't find a set that I want. I've received Lego sets for Christmas since I was like 2 years old, and (...) (23 years ago, 10-Mar-02, to lugnet.space)
