Re: Hasbro goes to the bricks!

Just an update...found this link: (...) (21 years ago, 6-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build.military)

Re: Anybody notice this? Is this new?

(...) Yep...I remember Paul sending a link for this during the time of the pods, so I guess that would be about 6-8 months ago. I get the impression it was together for quite some time before that. Does this prove Lindsay's sanity? If not, at least (...) (21 years ago, 6-Jun-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Heavy duty mecha (or other) joint

(...) I can honestly say, I've never heard this phrase uttered before.....in any context. :D (URL) (21 years ago, 6-Jun-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: BRICKFEST MOONBASE

What would everyone think about making the Moonbase passageways 6 wide? I and other members of my LUG have found this size to be very usefull. You can even make adapters to fit a 6 wide to a regular 4 wide. Otherwise, we'll have to designate each (...) (21 years ago, 6-Jun-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Anybody notice this? Is this new?

(...) I'm not sure how new it is; I feel almost certain I've seen it (or an iteration of it) before, as the mountings of the pods looks awfully familiar. It may very well have been Paul's, but whatever it is I'm recalling I do in conjunction with (...) (21 years ago, 6-Jun-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Hasbro goes to the bricks!

(...) Hate to be blunt, but it won't happen. The closest thing LEGO got to a violent "realistic" line was Wild West, and it was cut short after two years. Gundam? Please LEGO, no! No more licenses! Just my 2 bricks, (URL) (21 years ago, 6-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build.military, FTX)

Re: Hasbro goes to the bricks!

(...) Hmmmmmm...this may not be a bad thing. It might finally be the kick in the butt necessary to get Lego to wake up and release more modern sets, and get past their anti-violence fears. At some point they simply have to go ahead and do it.. (...) (21 years ago, 6-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build.military)

  Re: The EBKD Kalashnikov Project

(...) This is so cool, Leonard. I was going to do something similar a while back, but chickened out. I'm interested to see how all this progresses. Please let us know all the details; the failed ideas, the inspirations, the jackpots. The model (if (...) (21 years ago, 6-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Heavy duty mecha (or other) joint

(...) Probably some technic beams & pins could hold the arches together nicely & give it more strength (URL) Jeff (21 years ago, 6-Jun-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

  Dark Spiffcraft - With Lights!

Guess who's got a new digital camera... I was playing around with one of those 'useles' portals from [LEGOSet 7201] and a bubble canopy, and this was what eventuated. See the video to watch the light and sound in action. (URL) post mod folder> pics (...) (21 years ago, 6-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.loc.au, FTX) !!

  Re: The EBKD Kalashnikov Project

(...) you see, all the different renditions is what i find so interesting, the very point of this project! i think sometimes people look at something amazing like jassim's Dragonstar, and think he just built it. i imagine that he must have worked (...)   Re: Heavy duty mecha (or other) joint

(...) Yep, but to get the joint strength, you'll need to re-inforce the sides of the cylinder brick. Solution: switch to an r2-d2 body instead like so: (2 URLs) This way, not only do you have your joint, but you have SNOT wherever you need it. It's (...)   Re: The EBKD Kalashnikov Project

(...) Wow! Is that a napkin? ;-) (...) I find that my stuff goes through too many renditions to document every step. There are too many times where a design is scrapped halfway through the process for me to subject everyone to all phases of every (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  The EBKD Kalashnikov Project

Greetings, comrades, I'm announcing a new project of mine. I am going to document every step in the creation of the new Eastern Block Attack Frigate, the 'Kalashnikov', the flagship of the Junior Marshalate and personal ship of Jr.Mar. Leonid (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Heavy duty mecha (or other) joint

(...) Jeff, that's pretty cool. I wonder what would happen if you put a 2x2 cylinder brick: [LDrawPart 3941:15] inside of a couple 1x4x1 arches: [LDrawPart 3659:15:2] Is that possible with some SNOT to hold the arches together? --Todd (21 years ago, 5-Jun-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

Moonbase Monorail standards (was: BRICKFEST MOONBASE)

(...) We used that standard at NWBrickCon and it worked great. The example picture he gaved essentially used a 8-stud grid that has track lying along borders between bases. But that particular example aimed to keep most straight lines on the 16-stud (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.space)

  Re: BRICKFEST MOONBASE (follow-up count)

(...) David Wegmuller worked out a standard last summer that I think should be adopted. See (URL) and the ensuing thread. --Bill. (21 years ago, 5-Jun-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Hasbro goes to the bricks!

(...) BOOO...OOO! BOOO...OOO! BOOO...OOO! Death to Hasbro, now they are trying clone TLC! *mutters under breath* We can't trust any of them - there is only ONE construction toy, and that is LEGO! (URL) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build.military, FTX)

Re: Anybody notice this? Is this new?

(...) -I was wondering about that ship too, and especially the 'U.S.S. Preview' :). The Explorien 'Tub' is also very cool. Paul does some great work. I guess we'll just have to wait for more pics. You here that Paul? More pics, damn it! -Keith (21 years ago, 5-Jun-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: BRICKFEST MOONBASE (follow-up count)

(...) At NW BrickCon we had monorail track at +0, +10, and +20 (and even a small amount at +30 I think). +20 was necessary to clear most modules since it turns out it's easiest to just run the track whereever. However, if a station is actually built (...) (21 years ago, 5-Jun-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.space)
