Re: The best thing to ever happen to lego...

(...) I can't remember exactly what they look like from the showroom (and unfortunately my photo is at a bad angle for viewing the cockpit), but they do appear to have a curved partial sidewall. It's better than the old square-cut canopies, but it (...) (21 years ago, 1-Jun-03, to lugnet.space)

The best thing to ever happen to lego...

Ok, I'm really psyched. All my life I've lamented the fact that lego canopies have sides on them, so that if you wanted to build a wide spacecraft cockpit you would have these trans walls hanging down inside (not counting the curved trans from UFO (...)   Re: It's a Mech...It's a plane...It's, uh, both?

(...) Better, I'd wager! Adrian, this is a super-fantastic transforming mech, definitely in the tradition of the Transformers and Robotech, but wholly unique. It would be an accomplishment just to have created either one or the other of the (...) (21 years ago, 1-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Guess who finally won a place in the Minifig Hall of Fame?

It's only the second time that Blacktron 1 doesn't finish 2nd and this time, it's for the victorious spot. Blacktron 1 finally escapes the title of "forever second" and takes a deserving stance in the Minifig Hall of Fame. It will be very (...) (...) As said before, this is a curvy beauty fulla greebs and details in all the right places. The thing I like the best is it's inherent 'playability'...the 2 cockpits, the rocket, hinged panels, payload etc to keep the kids, and kids-at-heart (...) (21 years ago, 1-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

(...) absolutely! I always wanted that one too! about 1 1/2 months ago I was able to get a blue max sterling robotech reissue-it comes in a 'book' like package & was about $80 at my comic store. it came with a little pilot fig for the cockpit!   Re: It's a Mech...It's a plane...It's, uh, both?

(...) The G1 Transformers like Starscream were a heavy influence on this design. The way the cockpit folds, the position of the nose, and in a small way the way the arms fold were influenced by the design of those old Transformers. Like you say, the (...) Jamie, Simply put, this is a fantastic PCS model. Excellent "devolution" of the classic set. Well thought out. All elements look older and the tech is chunkier. AWESOME! I love the dual canopy and control centers. Great form... wow. You nailed (...) (21 years ago, 31-May-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)
