Re: FOTW: A Fun Little Tale

(...) I think you've mixed me up with the wrong person. :) (...) Thanks for the tip! I haven't seen any Lego displays recently, but I'll keep an eye out! -JHK (21 years ago, 28-Apr-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.space, lugnet.castle)

Re: FOTW: A Fun Little Tale

Nice find Hendo...brings out the treasure hunter in all of us. JFK..one of the best places I've found have been toystores that do Lego displays. So long as they are not glued of course, if you find one put in an offer on it while it's still up along (...) (21 years ago, 28-Apr-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.space, lugnet.castle)

  Re: Ion Cannon Frigate

Cool! I like the shape of it, with the big cannon on the bottom and the bridge at the back. Good job. What did you use for the animation, just Print Screen and Photoshop layers to make a Gif? -JHK (...) (21 years ago, 28-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: FOTW: A Fun Little Tale

Ar, you have good luck. :) I seem to be the only person in Jacksonville who knows what Lego is- the closest I've ever found is about 3 random collections of Megablok and Tyco. Thank goodness for Bricklink and Ebay... (still hopefull) (...) (21 years ago, 28-Apr-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.space, lugnet.castle)

Re: Proposal: build a future Lego Space theme!

(...) Or maybe have a Microscale contest, with a category for old sets. I'd love to see more Micro! I like this talk of a new contest, although I don't know about the part in which you have to make models for every price point. Maybe I can make a (...) (21 years ago, 28-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Proposal: build a future Lego Space theme!

maybe we should all work on micro sized models of the original space themed stuff. Micro is like sooo popular. -tk "David Simmons" <xenobuzz@earthlink.net> wrote in message news:HE1B7G.J1J@lugnet.com... (...) the (...) III, (...) the (...) stranger (...) (21 years ago, 28-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: ENTERPRISE D from Europe!

Awsom! Finally someone builds Startrek things again. I began building an Enterprise, but got stuck because I lacked bricks. I also attemped a Danube class vessel (Runabout). I did DS9 and a small Enterprise sofar. I am looking forward to more (...) (21 years ago, 28-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

Proposal: build a future Lego Space theme!

Hey all, I got this idea a few weeks ago and wanted to sound it out here. Since the license for Star Wars will most likely end after the release of Episode III, I got to thinking/hoping/fantasizing about TLG returning to producing it's own original (...) (21 years ago, 28-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: SW Minibust MOC - Admiral Ackbar

(...) Proud! (...) Thanks! Your sculptures don't need a collar or anchor, as they have a defined 'end'...the helmets are separate units, for example. Mine needed something on the bottom to anchor the sculpture. (...) It was a fun project! But you (...) (21 years ago, 28-Apr-03, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.space)

Re: SW Minibust MOC - Admiral Ackbar

(...) Thanks! The eyes are the strongest element on this bust, and thankfully they work design-wise. The other cool thing that happened (accidentally) was that I used 1x1 clip plates at the corners of the mouth to fill space, and it turned the lip (...)   Re: SW Minibust MOC - Admiral Ackbar

(...) You think so too? Cool! Admiral Ackbar is one of those characters that I wanted to see more of...And thanks! (...) I tend to see it as a challenge, and a fun one at that! Joe Meno (21 years ago, 28-Apr-03, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.space)

Re: SW Minibust MOC - Admiral Ackbar

(...) Thanks! There were some lucky things that happened while I was building, and the collar is one of them. I did that to give a place for the head to rest. Bad thing is, it does look kinda like I put his head on a platter:) Now if I could only (...) (21 years ago, 28-Apr-03, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.space)

Re: SW Minibust MOC - Admiral Ackbar

(...) Thanks! The eyes make the model here. I tried to make the eye color a little more accurate by placing a trans-orange behind the trans green, but while the color was pretty close, it looked odd from the wrong angle. Actually, the entire (...) (21 years ago, 28-Apr-03, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.space)

  Re: ENTERPRISE D from Europe!

Awesome D! The the shuttle also, is very nice and captures the feel of the "real" one. The use of saucer plates for the edges of the saucer really make the ship look like the D. Awesome. -Stefan- (...) (21 years ago, 28-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

(...) <> (...) Joe, From the one pic I can see, you captured the profile of Admiral Ackbar! Really great job with this. Those transneongreen dishes work well for the eyes. What do you have in store for us next? -Andrew GardenSLUG (21 years ago, 27-Apr-03, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.space)

Re: That SOMEONE has an even bigger army than we thought.

(...) Really? From my count, he's got 696 troopers lined up in Imperial1.jpg (24 wide, 29 deep), which would leave him missing close to 200 blasters.   Re: Best Lego Year of all time?

Wow, good topic! Although the entire 80's seemed really great, I started collecting Lego in 1991 so it's hard to rate the years before. So I'd have to say 1999 was my favorite year. The Star Wars line did it for me since Lego not only released (...) (21 years ago, 27-Apr-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.space)

  Re: Dragonstar Reloaded!

(...) Well, the neck IS where the Captain's quarters is located but I didn't bother fleshing it out this time. I guess I should.
