  Re: New Space MOCs

Okay, I've stripped most of the greeblies: (URL) this a good place to start redesigning the model? PLMKWYT. -JHK (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: New Space MOCs

Wow, thanks for the very detailed response, Paul. I might change the story line... -JHK (who's going to go and redesign the Heavy Fighter, or perhaps take it apart and try to build a greeblie-less ship) (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

to greeble or not to greeble

(...) well, there are basically two 'kinds' of design: 1) greebled, machinery, "dirty" look 2) smooth, sleek, refined, "clean" look #1 shows up in a lot of movies like Aliens, et al where you see lots of greeblies all over everything. #2 shows up in (...)   Re: Greeblies: Pros and Cons (was: New Space MOCs)

(...) My designs take in a great deal of various Sci Fi sources. Most space vehicles on TV and movies are typically fairly uncluttered, or at least have large expanses of smooth surfaces. Most likely because it's easier to make models that way. But (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: The Quasar

OK, well, at the risk of being accused of saying its PrettyGood TM its PrettyGood. meaning, its a lot better than other stuff you've done. you are getting a cool feel for shape and color and hiding stuff in your ship like sandman does sometimes. i (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: New Space MOCs

(...) Well... I would gladly trade an ISD for a plane ticket to a certain place near Arlington, Virginia that happens during the summer and I can't go to because of cost... Thanks for the compliments. (...) Yeah, I didn't have a proper fleebnork (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: New Space MOCs

(...) well, not that I am an authority on Fleebs, but it seems to grok. reference posts: (URL) Fleebs seem to leach power, and lay eggs in crevices, greebs make a natural habitat for them to nest. cheers! Jk (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Greeblies: Pros and Cons (was: New Space MOCs)

(...) Thanks for the feedback, guys. I'm gonna go think about the whole engreeblment idea. I guess that it depends on a person's idea of a spaceship. I've always imaganed a spaceship as a clunky bit of machinery that needs large amounts of just (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: New Space MOCs

(...) Thanks! I like the tanker alot, too. I was on a trip with a small bot-factory like box and the two crow's nest pieces gave me an idea... I like the way it turned out. -JHK (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: New Space MOCs

(...) Thanks! (...) Yeah... I just called it a fighter because it was small, and had lots of fightery-stuff like weapons, sensors, etc. I just threw in the room because I love interioirs. I'm not really sure what to call this... Browsing (URL) see (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: New Space MOCs

All of these are very nice MOCs. The "Heavy Fighter" is very cool. The only fault I can find with it is that there are so many greeblies that the the fighter would be very vulnerable, with so much machinery exposed. But overall, very good job. Curt (...) (22 years ago, 12-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: New Space MOCs

  Re: New Space MOCs

(...) yeah! me too... and I have to give you credit for detailing the bottom. I like the overall shape, although I personally would prefer to see the greeblies a bit more concentrated... otherwise fleebs are gonna be ALL OVER that ship :D cheers! Jk (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)
