| | Preliminary BricxCC Spybotic support
|
|
If you are interested in trying out a new release of BricxCC containing very preliminary support for the Spybotic brick send me an e-mail and I'll let you know how you can download a copy. So far BricxCC can compile and download programs to the (...) (22 years ago, 2-Aug-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics, lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

(...) As far as I know, the EEPROM on the chip is a small space where the bytecodes live. The RAM for data is in a different place on the chip. The RCX was unique in that the uploaded firmware and data RAM were in the same external chip. The Spybots (...) (22 years ago, 29-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

Does anyone know (for sure) if the firmware on the spybotics can be replaced? I assume that having the programs in eprom (or whatever it is) means the firmware is in the same long-term-memory type of place, so the firmware is pre-loaded. Can anyone (...) (...) I was having serial port problems and couldn't get the software to agree with me that the spybot was properly plugged in and turned on. My two expansion COM ports work as far as flashing the red light on the cable (and auto recognition by the (...) (22 years ago, 29-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

Playing with Big G all weekend :) I noticed that when you first turn on Gigamesh and use the remote right off, it will go backwards when you press the forwards button, then about 1 second later, it will go forwards (after it's done all it's (...) (...) I was wondering when this was going to come up. You probably didn't set the Spybot type properly. If you look closely, all the Spybots except Snaptrax have a simple geartrain that reverses the motor direction. Snaptrax drives things right off (...) Has anyone else had their Gigamesh run (it seems) backwards when using the default program? Without any fiddling with the controller device I pressed the run button on my Gigamesh once I'd built it. It works as I expected except it moves backwards (...) (22 years ago, 29-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

Don't you wish they'd supplied a booklet! A couple of diagrams of what communicates what to what and when and how would have been very useful, especially after the batteries start running down and its not clear which element isn't doing what it's (...) The way the remote is set up, it could have worked like David Koudys suggested. (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

(...) I like Ralphs way better... To quickly change b/w 'bots using 1 controller, switch to 'lock mode' (straight down) and press a button (1-3) *without* pressing the 'key' button. This just changes the 'channel' on the controller and not on the (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)
