Ooh, you're right. This seems to be too much for battery powered models. Has anybody a better idea? I want to have a sensor with gives a linear (?) signal corresponding to a distance. Hey, I have a little dilema when running nqc on RedHat 6.1 distribution of Linux on a Toshiba Satellite 2615DVD Laptop Computer. Hi Martin, the FD_ZERO bug sounds interesting. Maybe there's a way to work around this issue in a more portable way? Like, remove /usr/include from the Makefile and hope for the best? The RCX can not recieve a command while it's transmitting - so if you saturate the transmitter with things to do, it will not be able to "look" for any (...) (...) Yes, you are right. I have the char delay to about 10 or 20 msec and the line delay at 100msec. Remember that your monitor and other IR sources may interfere with comms to the RCX. Also, Paolo gets credit for the code that resets the idle counter inside IR activity. It will not reset on invalid packets or packets sent to a different RCX unit, so a unit will quietly go to sleep after 15 minutes in the midst of LNP (...) The new 2.1.5 Version of pbForth has a minor fix that affected programmers using the MARKER and LEAVE words. Thanks to Alexander Cech of Austria for supplying great bug reports!   Java 2 pbFORTH console, version 0.2 source release
 
Hello, This is not for the faint of heart. I wrote a Java 2-based pbFORTH console that strips out repeated characters when talking with the RCX (most of the time).
