| | Using two RCX bricks in one robot
|
| I'm kicking around the idea of building a Mindstorm's based entry for the Trinity College Fire-Fighting Home Robot Contest (see (URL) ). I may be mistaken, but it seems impractical to attempt this task with a single brick... there just don't seem (...) (23 years ago, 18-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| | Re: decoding a message sent by an RCX

| (...) Yes, you are correct - 11 bits total per byte. And yes, this is very non-standard. I believe the signal is inverted - meaning that IR light is present for "0" bits, and no light for "1" bits. But I'm going from memory here and haven't looked (...) (25 years ago, 4-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

| hi Zhengrong, Sorry, I didn't understand (or read) your message well, I thought you were looking for communicating with a PC. Well as far as my knowledge reaches, I agree with Dave, the RCX can't receive raw data (except for program downloading, (...) (23 years ago, 8-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

| | Re: Interactive communication with the RCX
|
| I don't think collision detection will be possible since the hardware/firmware does a checksum (at least in lego firmware), and no message is provided to the VM software (LASM), this prevents ACK/NAK protocols working. The Message() function does (...) (22 years ago, 24-Apr-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| | Re: disable LNP
|
| (...) Steve, If no IR traffic (of any kind) is occurring, then there is very little overhead associated with LNP being active. In any event, this trivial amount of overhead (in systime.c) can't be disabled. What you really need to be concerned about (...) (21 years ago, 10-Oct-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

| | Trouble loading programs
|
| Hi all, I'm new to legos and am having some problems loading programs. I have searched the news pages for my particular error and there are some that are close but not exactly. I hope someone can help because I am currently "dead in the water". Here (...) (23 years ago, 19-May-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

| | WINLNP QUESTIONS
|
| Dear all, I have some troubles setting up WinLNP. I am new to RCX (2 months) and legOS (1 month) and have not much experience with VC6. I want to set up a line of communication between PC and RCX. I downloaded everything from (URL) and I managed to (...) (23 years ago, 13-Aug-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

| (...) It seems that emulegos should be able to handle IR. However, it does not use the lnp-functions that I use, so I presume it is designed to work with an earlier version of legOS.
