| Great info! USB IR tower sounds good, I want to use my IR tower with my iBook, but I'm too lazy to buy an USB/Parallell port... I'm planning to use MacNQC then, but AFAIK, MacNQC doesn't "know" that there is a USB port on my computer... Or will it (...) (24 years ago, 26-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

| I've tested your RcxCC version, and it works great with RCX2 (AFAIK). (ah, and still works simultaneously with CyberMaster too, eheh) That reminds me, one very useful thing for people working with various pBricks simultaneously (like myself), would (...) | Tough, I think that in order to do this you would need to do some very complicated electronics and programming of a computer that could all be carried on the rcx and use little power. My first guess would be that the RCX doesn't have firmware loaded (If you see "00.00" on the display, firmware is loaded, if you just see an icon and "1", then it isn't). Second guess (...) | Hello Up until yesterday my nephew has been using the Xircom USB to Serial adapter on an iMac (Blueberry 350 ) with MPW NQC quite successfully. I just got my RCX about 4 weeks ago and am running Win2k, of course the included software doesn't work on Win2k. actually, it only works on Win98 and 95, and not always then. | (...) Bob, What type of Mac is it ? I have an original RIS 1.0. My Mac PB-G3 (wallstreet) is unable to key up the IR tower at all, but an old SE/30 works just fine. I think there are subtle differences in the voltages on Mac serial ports between (...) (24 years ago, 29-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

| I'm working on a kernel mode driver for Linux for the IR Tower. Overall from everything I've figured out, this is just a USB Serial device; porting code in win32 from COM1 (Serial interface from old serial one) -> LEGOTOWER1 (The USB Tower device (...) | I just got my RIS last week and I've had a problem getting the IR unit to download RCX code to the RCX unit.
