| | USB Range shorter than Serial!?
|
| Since I do the whole web-controllable-rover deal with my bot, it tends to go quite a distance. I recently purchased a USB tower from Pitsco and I must say, even WITH the long-range enabled on the control panel, the Serial tower still beats it. In (...) | | Lego IR serial tower!
|
| Hello! I'd like to use leJOS on linux but it seems not so good support for usb IR tower, so I'd like to get one IR serial tower like the one from RIS 1.0/1.5, as no parts' sales in HK. Can anyone tell me what should I do? Rgds, Laurence (22 years ago, 5-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| | LNPd with USB Tower - success?
|
| Hi, I'm new here. My name is Pierluigi and I am a student at the Turin Polytechnic ((URL) ). I've used BrickOS with LNPd for a summer project, and I've recently bought the Robotics Invention System 2.0, that comes with a USB IR Tower. This tower (...) |
| (...) I've never used LNPd, but since it's old enough to have "legOS" as its first letter, then it must support the serial IR tower. If no one else has info for you, you might consider buying one. Pitsco sells it new for $31.00: (URL) can get them (...) (19 years ago, 10-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

| | USB tower
|
| Hello - In the past I have burned out serial port towers, so I recently acquired the USB version of the IR tower. I did not realize that NQC makes use of the lego driver - it is looking like I have to purchase an entire RIS just to get Ghost. Is (...) (22 years ago, 7-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Sounds like it might even have direct power options. -Suz (who really (...) (19 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

However note that the Soccer communication only works with the (...) (19 years ago, 28-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.robolab)

Other users who had this problem were able to fix it by editing the USB Tower timeout values using the LEGO USB Tower Control (...) (19 years ago, 21-Nov-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| (...) Your correct, it isn't that. I know all about -Susb, because I'm using a serial and a usb tower simultaneously with respective rcx's. One sets in a box so their is no IR crossover. I have swapped over the towers. The USB worked perfectly in (...) (19 years ago, 21-Nov-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
