I feel kind of dumb: the serial port was disabled in the BIOS. However, now that it is enabled and is assigned COM1 (and shows up in Device Manager under Ports), I'm still having problems: C:nqc>nqc -SCOM1 -v -d test.nqc Downloading Program:Tx: 55 (...) Is anyone else having problems with this? The receive and display part works fine but it won't send "Hello World" when I press the View button. The srec from the LegOS home page works fine but if I build it myself it doesn't. I've tried both the web (...) (25 years ago, 1-May-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

(...) I hope you proved (somehow) that the problem is *not* with your serial port. Even if you have selected which COM port (or let it select automatically) there is the possibility the signal is not getting through. Does the green light in the (...) (...) I forgot to mention the green light. Ever since I enabled the serial port in the BIOS, the green light will only come on now when NQC is trying to transmit, which is what's supposed to happen. Well! A kind soul pointed me to: (URL) has a neat Winamp plugin that allows the program to be controlled by the serial port. Now I just need to convince the IR tower to play nice with others. The plugin tries to open Com 2 (where my tower's plugged (...) (25 years ago, 17-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
