Concerning the parsing of LEGO packets, I've found these bits to be useful in coming up with a parsing algorithm: * Packets start with 0x55 * Individual bytes of a packet are sent with little or no delay in between bytes * Packets may or may not (...)   RCX IR Tx Circuit
 
Here's my drawing of the RCX IR transmission circuit (receiver circuit to follow soon): (URL) With the voltages as shown, the RCX is not transmitting. The IR LEDs are powered by a 600mA current sink. I want to program mit RCX 2.0 with VB but therefor i need spirit.ocx , but it wasn't on the lego-CD. Could anybody send it to me and will it work the the usb-IR-Tower? Hi, I have been trying to use my lego mindstorms kit along with the USB IR Tower in linux. I have had limited success. I managed to patch the distribution so that firmdl3 recognizes the usb device. Hello everyone, I recently bought the Robotics Invention Kit 2.0 with the USB IrTower. I own a Mac Powerbook G4 and run Virtual PC 4.02 with the latest additions on my Mac OS 9.1 system. I have been running RoboLab 2.54 B on a Dell Inspiron 1100 with little problem until of late. I am using direct mode, tower set to high and the 2.0 RCX and tower are 3” from each other with the 2.0 RCX raised up 1” to better line up with the tower. (...) Elizabeth is quite right. It's easy to get collisions on the IR "bus" if two devices are sending (or replying) simultaneously. What I've done in the past with two RCXs is define one RCX as primary that is periodically (every 100 to 250 milliseconds (...) (18 years ago, 2-Apr-07, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
