| Hi, Wonder if I can get some help in this forum, hope so ;) I've been trying to download the firmware (standard) to a RCX. After I turn it on, the cone signal blinks, and it accepts communication with the IR tower. Then it starts downloading and in (...) (20 years ago, 25-Apr-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| Thanks to Dick Swan's help I have managed to get BricxCC downloading firmware in fast mode with the USB tower. All it took was using long enough timeout values (I'm currently using the tower default timeout settings when downloading firmware), (...) (21 years ago, 11-Sep-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| (...) Ok, your right they are separate, so that if I left the second -Susb out, my program wouldn't download via the USB tower, but would go to my other RCX via the serial tower. | I just got Mindstorm set, and since I do not have a PC, NQC seemed like a great place to start. I tried Mac NQC and did not get very far downloading the RCX firmware. | For some reason I'm having a problem downloading with NQC. I previously had the serial tower set up at the end of a track. The rcx on my robot goes up and down it. I used to have occasional problems with the IR comms, but I'd change the battery and (...) (19 years ago, 19-Nov-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
